Be nice if it was :)
something that doesnt affect you and other people would enjoy should be cancelled because you dont approve.
on DiS, hands down <3
really shit hair ;)
Were you hoping for a nice camping holiday at Little John's Farm on August Bank Holiday weekend, only to have your plans ruined?
I dont believe its sold out either.
other people are gonna love it
admittedly i would hate to BE THERE. but the slightly obvious solution to that is to NOT GO. stupid idiot
you do realise that you don't actually HAVE to go??!??
And, yes the line up sucks, but Rage Against The Machine are there!
Is better than last years by a long way. Still not going though, Latitude wins.
Er, im not going. I didnt buy a ticket cos the bill is so awful. Touchy bunch, aint ya?
that whilst i agree with you i don't think the bill is much cop, why would it be good if it was cancelled?
Im only throwing a stone at what i believe to be a shitty, unimaginative bill put together by smug, lazy, money-grabbing-fuck-the-punter promoters. I wouldnt like to see any festival cancelled, but i'd like to see the Reading/Leeds organizers get a black eye or two for their increasingly contemptible attitude towards the punters re bands, conditions and pricing.
but, I have many fond memories of th event.
There's no denying the fact that the line-ups declined in quality pretty significantly in general, but, there's still lots to see.
I'm sure I was just getting too old for it too. When I first when aged 14 the average age was around 21 or so.
By the time I was 21 that had dropped to 15/16 and the line-up had changed to meet the expectations of the younger demographic.
And I felt like I was on a school trip. I'm sure me and my friend (both 20 at the time) were the oldest ones on the coach.
Did the people at the back of the coach tell people to 'pass on' "Tell the driver to turn the radio on" ?
festival looks shit too.
but i got a day ticket just to see QOTSA and then Rage.
I don't think i will enjoy anything else there particularly on that day. But I don't care. The list of bands I MUST see is shortening nicely.
Damn you sigur ros at Lattitude!!
But rage comes first.
Does seem like a bit of a stupid thread though. Why not just find one of the others about leeds and reading and post:
I don't like it?
wtf do you care, if you're not going? If you've been jilted in the past, then fair enough, but it seems strange that you're quite emotional about the festival given that it doesn't directly involve you.
Whatever, fill your boots..
and am very dis-heartened by its increasing decline in quality. But i believe the majority of DiSders posting on this (obviously bogus) thread are the ones being 'quite emotional', not me. Have a nice festival.
It's cool that you're a devotee to the festival, but i just don't entirely see why you've started a thread just for the sake of it. As for myself, i've never been to the festival, so i'm not emotionally attached as it were - but mate, it's a pretty random thread to start. Were you bored at work?
Its friday - lighten up.
Whats your excuse?
are you new to DiS by any chance?
and, no, i'm not that new to DiS. Presumably, you wanted to people to post replies on here - i'm just saying something, that's all. Please don't take it the wrong way - i'm not saying you take it the wrong way. I mean it's 'a' way, and some say it's the only way! Just be safe and always wear protection...
Your really not my type.
TV On the Radio, Broken Social Scene and Animal Collective played. Last year Arcade Fire, Tokyo Police Club, Interpol and LCD Soundsystem played. I bought a ticket but i'm scared there will be nothing this year thats anywhere near as good as those bands :( :( :(
Obviously fucking metallica or whatever are going to headline but reading is all about the little punk band playing in the carling tent at one on saturday, with their amazing first album no-one has heard yet, and them becoming your new favouite band.
to be making this point. Of course the main stage is bum, the main stage is rubbish for listening to music on anyway, so why would you WANT any good bands to be playing there? I don't know (or really care) what the full line-up is this year but, previously, Reading's strength has tended to be it's depth.
So, to all the haters, ENOUGH!
(i'm going to eits atp)
what a sell-out loser! EITS ATP is sheee-iiiiiite! I'M going to P4K vs ATP so i can see Sacred Wank Sleeves.
to go to the 'mainstream dickhead' concentration camps.
Clearly, THIS is the only event that means ANYthing this year.
it looks fantastic though
this year Andrew?
certainly not. you have to be popular to play at reading.
were so so bad last year on the Pyramid Stage.
We watched them play about two songs and left in boredom.
but that line up is pretty tosh and i won't be in the country anyway so i don't really care.
