hi folks. some bad news that i know effect some people on here:
are any other don't look back shows going to be announced soon?
but very busy at the moment!
still tickets available for the Sebadoh and Raekwon shows, the PE is just about sold out but you might be able to grab one if you search about and are quick.
unless some incredible replacement is announced in the next few days, I will get a refund for the Battles show and go and see Times New Viking on the same night instead ...
but that's fucking brilliant news for them.
I lose out! ME ME ME! Ergo it is bad!
in the last year though.
ME ME ME
I don't think I'd pay to see them again. I was expecting so much, and they disappointed big time.
I was only going for Liars, really. Not sure I can be arsed now.
a replacement announced within a week or so
I'll still go, I've still not seen Battles properly.
They have gigs planned, and have made a commitment to playing ATP shows, and the Radiohead show up and they drop everything to play second fiddle to them. Pretty piss poor behaviour from a band I love.
liars have never managed to make much headway in the US. they're not and never will be the sort of band who sell fuckloads of records and they've got to make a living. so, whatever really.
their not the most accessable of bands
but they're still going to be playing to about 20,000 people a night..
I never really liked them but my opinion of them has definately lowered (bet theyre gutted)
i don't think that's fair. they've dropped the shows, sure, but for a pretty massive opportunity. i don't think anyone can really hold that against them.
But ATP have always been really good to Liars- I just don't get why this is seen as 'ok' in the music industry because it's Radiohead. Is this always the way? That bands pull out when someone big says we want you. Just seems a bit unfair on some of the real fans and the real supporters of the band.
but really. they've been over here 3 times since last summer, and before that it had only been eight months since their last visit, which was only about six months after the previous ones. the "real fans" have had plenty of opportunities to see them here...
I just wonder if this thing happens more often than you think. I also think it's pretty bad of Radiohead to think they're better than ATP. Cause in a funny way by offering a support slot to a band with existing dates booked, they're saying that they're more important. I dunno, just gets my goat, because I can imagine booking someone and then having them pull out for something bigger and better. It's a lack of respect.
its the principle. Fair enouh they made the choice that many would, but doesnt stop it being a bit low.
