is anyone in the band actually american, at all? drunk enquiring bands want toknow
that makes sense.
otherwise i was just imagining gaz screaming at her "NO SING LIKE AN AMERICAN PLS OR ELSE"
"the band is made up of Russian medical student Aleksandra (vocals/clapping/melody horn), Bristol journalism student Ellen (bass/singing), politics and history student Gareth from Bath, history student Ollie from Somerset (drums/singing) and the three English literature students Neil from Chester (guitar/singing), Harriet from Surrey (violin/keyboards/singing) and, of course, Tom from St Albans."
No idea why Tom being from St Albans is so inevitable.
I like that as a name for a band
Is it one of those hooters that clowns use to startle each other?
or a hot girl
Hi I'm Melody Horn
one of them
it's a melodica, then? It's got a perfectly good name without having to pretend it's some sort of hornophone. Augustus Pablo would never have made the cross-cultural impact he did if he was known as king of the melody horn.
today looking up a few bands I should have checked out earlier. Anyway, I didn't really think much of Los Campesinos. I thought they were perfectly listenable, but only marginally better than the current crop of angular indie poppers clogging up the charts at the moment.
On the upside, I listened to Les savy fav and realised they were pretty good. For some reason I was under the impression that they would sound something like ..And You will know us by the trail of dead.
has covers of songs by Bikini Kill, Deerhoof, and Casiotone for the painfully alone, added to Heavenly, Black Flag, Pavement (and probably some more I don't know about), thats a pretty decent selection of bands to cover there.
