I think I'm going to this.
I've never been to see TTS but I'm assuming they're shit hot! What they like?
ireally don't think much of their album, find it all rather boring and without much to say.
That being said I have seen many bands that I have enjoyed live over the years but not rated their records.
with Idlewild in Dundee and they blew me away, and really enjoyed some good banter with the crowd, so it was very good. Idlewild were excellent too I might add...
I think they are ace.
perhaps I might go along then.
..wish I was going..
when I saw them i had a bunch of twats next to me going "oh god how scottish are they?!?" And then the noise started and drowned them out thank god..
And they are top guys (we were hanging out with them cus my sister did some promo shots in the day, which i believe she still hasnt sent them!?) but musically they are fucking brutal. DEFO take the ear plugs they are loud!
Seen them a few times now. They're pretty brilliant live, to be honest. Dont know about this one, but normally they end up with a couple of Frightened Rabbits joining in. Well worth going to see them.
for the first time and was very much impressed.
One of my friend knows them and said they were off soon anyway.
There's a good video on YouTube of James from Twilight Sad singing with Frightened Rabbit on Be Less Rude.
It's from Connect. I remember watch this actually.
average live, in fact one of the times i saw them they were a bit amateurish. and their album is a bit dull after a while.
mum is a bit dull after a while.
im sorry, i didnt really mean that, i just *had* to, you know?
other good your mum lines ive heard recently include
"i f*cked your mum so hard, i came on her soul"
"i f*cked your mum so hard, i came on her soul"
they make my ears feel like they're bleeding!
have seen them about 10 times in the past year and have come to the decision that they really suit small venues.
Blaast have you got a ticket? as I'm pretty sure its sold out
I meant to buy a few but they were all gone!
I promised I take a friend to this gig but oh well.
Should be shit hot.
seen them twice before, but nowhere as small as tuts... i'm quite excited
Tut's is probably the tiniest place I'll have seen them. Although Cabaret Voltaire's not the biggest of places either. I think nearly everyone in Glasgow knows someone in FR or Twilight Sad. Or knows someone that knows someone. Seems that way anyway. Not that it's a bad thing.
One of the Aereogramme blokes is joining the tour.
I stuck my heels in to go with Her Name is Calla. I'll be selling merch, do come say hello! :)
Saw them last year at Oran Mor.. and even the £3.75 a pint did not ruin the show.. much more atomospheric live and yes your ears bleed at the end!
t minus 1 day an counting.
This is gonna be saweeeet!
excuse the gayness. Anyone else coming?
All the good gigs happening while I am away...
I saw them last night, and they were amazing. Dok from Aereogramme did a fantastic job for them, on keyboards and guitar. Quite a Godspeed/Aereogramme vibe going, with Ian Curtis influenced vocals. Wouldn't surprise me if they play the Barras soon, rather than Tuts.
saw them with rod from idlewild at celtic connections and it was great, the aerogramme guy helping out tonight sounds like another good addition.
ear plugs have been looked out for the occasion, last time at tut's they gave me a few days of ringing.
To be perfectly honest.
Sound could've been better, James didnt seem very into it and the crowd was full of cunts. :(
I really enjoyed My Name Is Calla.
When refering to the cuntish crowd do you perhaps mean the cunts standing almost behind me shouting for songs to be played and singing along to the songs when there was nothing to be sung? Cunts! If you're going to song along to something at least know when you're going to sing!
I was really impressed with Her Name Is Calla. Was really good.
But yeah, there was the cunt that decided to shout "play High". Oh, you mean the song And She Would Darken The Memory that has the word "hi" in the chorus? riiiiight. Cunt
And another one (why is it they always stand behind you?) that decided it would be a good idea to shout "NOISE" and "LOUD NOISES" at random intervals?
And lastly all the freakishly giant guys that thought they needed to push in front of me (a slightly dwarfish 5'7" bloke) to get a better view of the stage.
Sorry, I probably sound like a total cunt myself now but it just wasnt a pleasant gig experience.
actually may have been me and one of my mates, if you were standing to the right hand side of the stage. but, in our defence, we had been there all the way through the gig, bar piss breaks.
if wee folk want to get in front of me to get a better view ill always oblige. hell, i even let staurt braithwaite through last night.
yeah, that's where we ended up. I did see wee Stuart heading back our way to go to the bar/for a piss.
But to be honest, that was the best view we managed to get stood there. We'd been up on the raised bit at the back earlier on but folk edged their way in front of us so we could see fuck all.
sorry bout that, just ask for a piggyback next time.
so im freakishly giant? awesome.
Maybe just giant. There were 3 freakishly giant guys stood to the left of us. Well, freakishly giant compared to me.
Sad were so disappointing and the crowd was terrible.. Her Name is Calla were much better and were kind enough to talk to me... and sign the single etc..
shutter weren't exactly playing anything original, but they were pretty enjoyable.
her name is calla were really good, i didn't have enough money for their album last night, but i'll be buying it soon.
i managed to get to the barrier before twilight sad came on, and so i was able to just contentedly watch the band and ignore the numerous cunts in the crowd behind me.
i only just found out about an after party thingy that was in bloc later on. sadly, i ended up in a really shit club near trongate instead.
Seeing them @ the Liquid Rooms this past Thursday I agree that the extra person to help “Fill” out the sound really does make a difference
To the songs both Old & New. Plus the new songs sound cracking so I can’t wait for the E.P when it comes out. As for the Support Make Model…. I was more impressed with their lovely collection of Grestch Guitars than the songs.
As for the Naysayer’s
C’mon who is really giving them a run for the money in Scotland……..
that the new stuff grabbed me all that much. Maybe just because I'm familiar with the album. But none of the new songs stood out for me.
the cover that they did again???
im sure it was a pixies song, it was near the end of the set
this was like, fun x 1,000,000
best new tour drink: large mug of strong black coffee filled up half way, then topped off with chardonnay
