Id go with Taking Back Sunday, Cute without the E. whenever i hear it when im out i just go mental :)
the intro is killer - "your lipstick, his collar, don't bother a4ngel, i know exactly what goes on!"
you know you shouldn't, but you can't help yourself :)
I have to dance to it when I hear it.
It reminds me of going to the Cathouse unders, which won't mean anything to you unless you're a Glaswegian. In which case, I should probably be somewhat embarassed, but they were fun times!
I reckon that was filmed at the Edinburgh gig I was at years back - memories! cheers my man!
Shame they split really...
Jean Is Dead, Hope or Thank You.
or last chance to lose your keys.
seventy times even, so good.
Is a great call.
Hands Down by our Dashboard is also a bit of a drunk anthem. Not so much pop-punk as emo-girl though.
The Get Up Kids
Cute without the E.
Thinking about it, Fat Lip by Sum 41 is really a fucking great pop-punk song. EVERYONE loves that song, right?
'Kate Is Great'
true believers is a TUNE. or the something special.
or Another Girl, Another Planet
My only gripe is that it's maybe *too* perfect for a "punk" song...
Hit or Miss
by The Starting Line. Cheeese.
they are amazing amazing songs though... i just meant more along the lines of american emo punk pop rather than punk bands making poppy music. if that makes sense.
But what you said and what you meant are two different things :p The Only Ones and Buzzcocks were both pop-punk through and through, ergo they count. If I'd meant punk bands playing poppy music, I'd've said The Day The World Turned Day-Glo.
If you really must have something else, have All The Small Things or Basket Case. Or maybe Pretty Fly (For A White Guy). Or Come Out And Play...
