Try a Little Tenderness.
otis has probably my favourite singing voice ever.
That voice can sell any song.
Me, jealous? Just a little fucking bit!
Where, when, what was he like?
Think it was around 66-67, not sure would have to ask my dad the exact dates but he's in Egypt. He was a massive soul boy in the 60s - saw nearly everyone you can think of and he still says Otis was the greatest live. He had hundreds of vinyl too, loads of rare seven inches, but we got burgled when I was five and they took it all :(
from the legendary monterey performance:
such great energy.
Just the emotion thats in his voice, complete hairs on the back of the neck stuff
It's always transfixed me the way it builds.
bettered by the Black Crowes, obv.
didn't he do Day Tripper or something? He didn't better that.
It wasn't serious :D.
despite huey lewis and the fucking news raping it
i've found a really good live video one
my fav is
"cigarettes & coffee"
booker t & the mg's are his backing band and it's fucking incredible ....
on the dock of the bay
innit? and not particularly cos of his brilliant voice either.
I'm going to say his version of A Change is Gonna Come. His voice adds something very different to Sam Cooke's (quite obviously brilliant) version... it sounds incredibly emotional.
i think, maybe try a little tenderness, depends on my mood
The Happy Song, or mayybe his version of My Girl.
