i'm thinking of calling my club night "clipped wings" - good or not? non-wire fans, what do you think? opinions please!
you could do it on a sunday
Hmm, how about...
"Brother Mouzone's Red Tie Soirée"
"Fuck. Motherfuck. Fuckin' Fuck."
These are all good.
fuck. motherfuck. fuckin' fuck.
bizarrely but it's a bit long, people might shorten it to "fuck"...
"so, what are you doing tonight" "i'm going to fuck"
"Bub's White T's"
that sounds like a sandwich shop.
It's more a kind of supermarket...
Season 4 is out next Monday. Oh yes!
"Mmmm assfucking too"
Or if you want no one to come 'I Should have known Better' or 'Once is Enough'.
has been used as a club night in Manchester which was quite good. Fascinating fact.
If you called it Brazil the it could be that ace song of Pink Flag, plus the really great film too. Double whammy yo.
leeds is too close to manchester though. hummm.
will be happening for much longer if that changes matters at all. French Film Blurred is kind of cool sounding song title, plus a particularly good song.
the music will be a mixture of lots of different things, just NO electro. there's too much of that and nu-rave around.
Really? Why's that?
Three Girl Rum Bar
i do like "touch sensitive", but i'm not enough of a fall fan to allow it.
^5 for that.
well. we want to put on a night at a club in leeds (small venue, we're thinking santiagos or the former soul circus) and we want something that leeds doesn't offer right now. a mix of old and new, proper new wave, post punk, indie pop, lo-fi, shoegaze, hardcore, rock, garage indie. basically the best songs that you don't normally get to hear and that aren't heard week in/week out. the stuff you want to hear but forget to ask for in a club, with a friendly atmosphere and where everyone just wants to have a good time and dance to good music. basically.
It's also a Los Campesinos reference. Duh.
thanks. i reckon we can make it work in leeds though. saturday night slot too, hopefully.
And instead do an open-air festival for under-18s.
You could call it Outdoor Minors...
I like the map ref idea.
Or the Brother Mouzone one.
that half of the responses refer to Wire the band and half to The Wire, the most genius programme ever. All hail Season 4 out on Monday.
Bodie Braudus' Spitbucket
It's Ock's turn!
Would look quite cool in vibrant neon letters
