Does anyone have a spare ticket for their gig in Brixton next Friday?
but Glasgow's not sold out if you want to travel a bit?
<<realises the Glasgow - London commute for a gig on megabus is going to be hideous and wishes he'd sold Brixton ticket instead of Manchester one>>
desperate to see them. Some friends are in London for it so I thought I'd go along.
my girlfriend would kill me.
that wasn't helpful I know. I just wanted to gloat.
i'm coming down to Victoria by 5:30pm; i will need to deposit my bag in Camberwell and then get down to the Academy so i can get a decent enough space to be able to see the band (barrier at Glasgow show, half way back venue for Brixton show)
Given they won't have a support and will be on stage by about 8/8:30, would i be able to get to the venue for 7? I don't know distances or how long the queue gets / how fast it moves
Get the postcode of the Academy and of the place in Camberwell and use the Journey planner here:
Put in 'fast' walking on the advanced options. You'll have to do it in two parts. Whatever comes out will probably be an over estimate by about 10-20% if you're prepared to walk fast/run a bit.
surely i'd be doing some running regardless? har har.
Cheers for the advice. So long as i'm in the venue and can damn well see by the first note of their set, all will be well
the trouble is you can't get a tube there, and buses around there take ages at that time of day. I'd estimate getting there about 7.30pm. They're quite good at ushering people in quickly at Brixton though, even if the queue is huge. Anyway, all you have to do is get drunk enough to barge your way to the front. That's what I do anyway.
in Camberwell, just being put up at a mate's place for the weekend.
Don't really want the front as i'll be down there for the Glasgow show, but don't want too far back as people get chatty during the quieter parts of songs (at least in Manchester Academy they do).
Would i be best just to walk it do you reckon?
