just got email through saying these bands are added to the bill...think there is official press coming soon.
and some others i can't remember.
last time I saw kozelek, which was as he is one of my favorites
Mercury Rev (only uk festival date this summer),
Micah P Hinson,
Sun Kil Moon / Mark Kozelek,
Jason Molina (songs ohia/magnolia electric company), A Hawk And A Hacksaw,
Bob Log III,
The Wave Pictures
Friska Viljor (SWE)
...it's shaping up quite nicely.
I might go but not camp
and fm belfast , who i thnk are icelandic...
or do you just not like camping?
and really close to all the tents and stuff....i seem to remember it having a lovely view- bugger to get the pegs in the ground tho!
and ticket purchased. Also saves me having to go see Low at the Thekla. Nice news.
this looks rather tempting despite not knowing anyone that's going.
was just told that Dirty Three are headlining friday - by mr warren ellis himself.
curating the Friday like Howe Gelb did last year?
there isn't a curator as far as i know...but there are a couple more exciting names being banded about by simon (taffe, the organiser). Afraid i'll have to keep shh, but as soon as owt comes official I will 'pre release' to you people!
no day tickets for thisun?
there were last year.
However, because it's such a small festival, it isnt likely that they will do it this year i would think. There are only 5000 places i think.
there were some last year. Oh well, I can always go and drive back to my parents in the evening to avoid camping :D
believe me-if half of the stuff we are hoping to get happens you won't regret it. I am most excited about this year of the three of them....and im not jsut saying that. Mountain Goats and Sun Kil Moon are two of my all time favourites- dirty three and low are both great live.....plus the more 'up and coming' bands are great too.
are two of the greatest bands on earth
there's plenty of scope for collaboration (a la ATP last April), no? Gotta say, I'm mighty intrigued by those "exciting names"...
but you'll prob feel like you're missing out. I stayed offsite nearby last year (3 month old baby, didn't fancy camping) but din't really feel part of it in the same way as the previous year. Plus it's a pain in the arse to find the car in the carpark at the end of the day...
enough to miss out on the camping part of it
There's a few people playing between midnight and 2am but there's plenty else to enjoy.
this looks abit good...i wasnt going to go to a festival this year but this and supersonic look pretty fucking tempting
