all songs by bands since (arbitrary point in the 60s) are, to some extent, about being a band as much as they are about anything else, what with the weight of rock history resting on the writers' shoulders
every single million dead song
i say million dead in particular because frank's lyrics at least seem to personal that the events and views that he talks about in his lyrics are the things that made him who he is as a person, and thus made him a person who wanted to be in a band, specifically a hardcore-ish band. my slightly flakey point is that, without forging some entirely new idiom, everything that's written by a band is at least partially influenced by the handed down notions of what "being a band" means. all writing is to some degree "about" the act of writing.
it's very amusing. :D
...This is just a modern rock song or Paint a vulgar picture are entirely about being in a band, although they both have a few lyrics about it.
