Anyone got a idea as to stage times?
on about 9.30 last night in Manchester with one support on about an hour before.
They were ace.
New track "Stay Positive" sounded really good as well.
yesterday to ask, cos I needed to book our train, and got told they'd be on around 9 and off by 11. I doubt they'll play 2 hours though.
This gig is going to be utterly incredible.
Bombay Bicycle Club & The Haze. Any opinions on these?
were brillo about a year ago at Dingwalls. dont know how they'll do in a larger place. although they did hold there own at Reading Festival.
YOU SPOKE TO ME!!!
really? You were shit, they went on at 9.30 ;)
so won't go into great detail, but that was gig of the year so far by an absolute mile. Perfect.
I'm a boy. But glad you agree!
It was so so good. Energetic, fun, tight and a perfect setlist. They played most of Boys And Girls, plus most of the best old songs. Multitude Of Casualties! The Swish! And the guitar solo on Resurrection was possibly the greatest thing I have ever, ever heard. Gave me chills.
Also, why does everyone hate Koko so much? It looks nice, it sounds good and last night had one of the best, most into-it crowds I've seen at a gig (even if there were lots of old people).
Hold Steady are bloody AMAZING live, so annoyed it clashed with Menomena. Glad you guys enjoyed yourself.
That was an incredible gig. Beaten only by the Borderline and Oxofrd Zodiac shows last February but light years ahead of Empire and Electric Ballroom shows. The band seemed genuinely moved by the response. The crowd were great, did seem like nearly everyone knew nearly every word of nearly every song. I was quite near the front and to turn around during Yr Little Hoodrat Friend and seeing most of the venue jumping up and down was quite a sight to behold.
Plus the new stuff clearly kicks ass. Any song with the lyric "Raise a toast to Saint Joe Strummer" is good by me.
Wasn't a massive fan of Stay Positive but the second new song (the one about climbing up the water tower or something) they played was awesome. Anyone catch what it was called?
