were a bit meh last night.
at the Scala
really looking forward to this.
Defintely not bad, but also strangeley not good. Good voice, couple of good songs, loads of very average ones.
Like a poor mans Built to Spill mixed with a poor mans Grandaddy.
would ditch Band of Horses and support Islands tonight instead...
i really enjoyed that.
i really liked MGMT, though i'm not sure if i'd make the effort to go and see them again.
S&D, did nothing to change my view of them as being 'MEH'
Band of Horses, i really loved. i'd not heard a thing by them before, and they were brilliant :)
s&d were appalling, one of the worst bands i'd seen.
then boh, they were ok but the sound was pretty bad and the lights were horrendous, it detracted from the show cos i was getting angry.
and £20 for a t-shirt is ridiculous, they have doubled in price in less than a year.
the sound and lighting guys were BOH own, not the regular guys.
t-shirt prices. 20 fucking quid for a cheap Fruit of the Loom shirt.
as my (short) girlfriend decided she wanted to position herself where she could actually watch a band for a change.
I only caught the last few bars of MGMTs final song which was a shame.
S&D didn't really do anything for me which was a suprise as I really liked them when they played ATP 2 years ago. I think I wanted to enjoy them but found them to be quite dull. I can't see who they are marketed at to be honest.
BOH were very good. Was surprised at how well the singers voice held up throughout the entire show. They played all their best songs so I was as happy as a pig in shit.
A good, if not great gig. 7/10.
