There might not be too many of them, but I was listening to both Poison The Well and Hopesfall earlier and it struck me that, although they're both 'hardcore' (in the loosest sense of the term) bands, they've had frighteningly similar careers:-
PTW - "Opposite of December"
Hopesfall - "No Wings To Speak Of"
Both heavy albums by relative underground newcomers; raised the bands' profiles significantly; both still held in high regard.
PTW - "Tear From The Red"
Hopesfall - "The Satellite Years"
At this stage, they kept some of the earlier heaviness but a lot more emphasis based on melody' both bands' profiles widened simiarly.
PTW - "You Come Before You"
Hopesfall - "A Types"
The point where they started experimenting - PTW with some slower, spaced out songs and Hopesfall with a VERY poppy sound. Both were fairly criticised by devout fans (Hopesfall's a bit more).
PTW - "Versions"
Hopesfall - "Magnetic North"
Both bands used their previous albums as a basis and expanded upon their 'new' direction; both are completely different to the style found in their earlier albums.
...the only main difference that there is now is that Hopesfall have split, but still...fairly similar careers.
Any other bands that fit the above description?
