great band non?
Not too keen on Gutter Phenomena, the lyrics 'hey there girls, I'm a cunt!' aside and haven't heard The Big Dirty or the oldr stuff
GP is a little more clean cut, but it's still got a dirty southern type of feel to it.
Last Night In Town and Burial Plot Bidding War are a bit hit and miss methinks.
Haven't heard The Big Dirty properly. When it was on myspace around the time they were releasing it I gave it a bit of a listen and can't say I was all that taken with it.
They're voer here in March/April I think, will deffo be getting to the Nottingham date for that. Last time at Rock City was pretty sweet.
its a mix between gutter phenomenon and hot damn.its perfect basically
can't wait for the April show at King Tut's: about 1/3 the size of the venue they played last time. There will be blood.
Hot Damn! is incredible.
im going to the manchester academy gig.is it academy 2?which means it will be tiny and awesome?
So poor I haven't listened to The Big Dirty.
def. worth checking out. Not as good as HD!, but still a solid record
Hope you're right.
my 2nd favourite album of last year.
I NEVER get bored of hearing it, it's 100% perfect. The earlier stuff's great, first EP is a lot heavier, and I like the direction they've taken now. Gutter Phenomenon was alright, but even though I'd like another Hot Damn!, The Big Dirty is so fucking catchy that I always find myself going back and listening to it. So excited about seeing them AND Drop Dead, Gorgeous in London in April!
im really disappointed in DDG's new stuff. nowhere near as good as in vogue.
It's just really strange, a lot less breakdown-driven. But the concept's great and it's got a really original sound. They're great live as well.
esepecially to see ER and fasion your seatbelts.
ill have to give the new one another go methinks..
Favourite breakdown ever (aside from Floter), woth buying Last Night In Town just for that.
anyway, it's a shame they went and ruined it all with Gutter Phenomena, which in all honesty is a shower of shit.
It's one of the very few albums (ever) that was so bad I just had to get rid of it, and I'm glad I did too.
and the new one just sounds equally as generic as that shit shower too, where did it all go wrong? maybe the (alleged) vocal coach? who knows?
and LNIT are just amazingly good records. California, Gracefully is one of the best songs of its type that I've heard. I've never got sick of listening to either of those albums.
Which makes Gutter Phenomena and everything that has followed being so shite even harder to take. They were pretty much perfect for a while. Ah well.
Hot Damn! is great though. Didn't bother investigating the other stuff.
Just checked their wiki, they're on their 8th bassist now. :D EbLOLarama!
yeah it's different and more streamlined, but it still has some great moments on it.
looking forward to Manchester immensely
What an album. Mental note: Need to listen to the other albums.
Other mental note: Keith Buckley is a fucking poet. Yeah.
Touring here in April dontcha know
i never heard the first one and what i've heard of the others puts me off listening any further
Then you definitely need to at least seek out Last Night In Town - it's a lot more like Hot Damn! that the recent stuff.
can't believe how good Hot Damn! is. It's a rare album that pumps me full of as much energy as that one does. It destroys me, and it has done for years.
is a great album
is perfect. Last night in town is awesome.
I hated the sound of his voice on Gutter Phenomenon, it sounds washed out in comparison to Hot Damn.
i dont think theyve released a bad album.i love the big dirty most.it combines everything good that theyve done in the past and just turns it into something completely different and unique.amazing band!
