Has anyone been to a gig here? I'm assuming its a small place but is it any good?
i suspect everyone will echo this but it really is very nice indeed.
and I thought it was a bit of a dull venue. Yeah and sitting on pews(sp?) is uncomfortable
I saw my 3rd best gig ever there
and not as small as you might think.\pretty massive actually
there. It was awesome. You can't take drinks into the church bit though.
Not sure if it is still the case, but I saw Edwyn Collins in the chapel in pews, and High Fidelity in the "normal" standing only hall somewhere round the back.
Laura Marling doing her SongBox gig there soon, I wonder which one it will be in?
After a day of protesting against the Iraq war. I have never seen a band seem so at home in a venue before.
was brilliant as it was freezing.
amazing setting. Mountain Goats there was incredible and I can't wait to see Low there.
Godspeed!, Sigur Ros (with birdsong played as the 'interval music'), Patti Smith benefit for the Chapel, Bjork, and of course the abovementioned Low gig which was just breathtaking.
Because the acoustics are mint, you can see the stage wherever you are, and you can line up your drinks on a shelf on the pew in front of you. Very handy.
gig there was pretty amazing - perfect setting.
you really can't make a sound though - a glass clinking reverberates around the whole room!
that you sit in the bar and the blokey announces the bands are about to start, like you're at a theatre, very civilised indeed.
