        • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

who cares about it being the place to be. i'm not going soley for the reason that it is COOL to go to glastonbuiry. this is my first one and i'm going for the music and the experience.

          • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

you are joking? - what is it with all this last century dance music at glasto - Fatboy slim, the 'chemicals' and now these fucktards- jesus fuck I heard a rumour that Stevie Wonder might play Sunday but no, lets get in some laptops and the sort of muzak Emily Eavis is used to hearing in really bad bars in EC1 so we can stand around with bottled beer taking about how pleased we are with ourselves

This band have the depth of a Big Brother application form - I hope the stage collapses wth them on it

            • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

i think that the modern music industry has destroyed the whole concept of a headliner: the only bands they can actually give Sunday night to are either old, woefully bland or far too inexperienced.

and now they've got a dance band that should be playing in a tent as they have no other options.

    • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

last years line up was worse but still had an ace time - there's no point in going if you just go for the bands anyway - good to see Emily Eavis has got her finger on the pulse as always

      • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

Basement Jaxx are good fun. They'll get you dancing unless you keep repeating 'I hate them! I like can! I hate them! I like can!' in your head over and over again. In which case you shouldn't be at a festival.

Oops, not intended! It's just, y'know, lighten up people! Festivals are meant to be fun! I crowd-surfed to Reef at Leeds 97. REEF!!!!

i'm never going to a festival if it'll turn me into a gibbering reef loving mong.

              • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

It's temporary, like the legal 'highs' I was on at the time. Seriously, my experience of festivals is that you miss most of the really good bands, the really good bands you actually see are shit because you're too far away, they don't come across well in a huge open-air setting etc etc.

You really shouldn't go to the festival for the music alone - you will almost always be disappointed. It's about the people you meet, the alcohol you ingest, the falling down you do.

Emily Eavis can go to hell. Along with her shitty and completely subjective choice of "artists" that she's booked.

        She is destorying Glasto.
        FACT.

        • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

I have admit, last time I went to Glastonbury in 2003 I had an excellent time. Didn't even watch that many bands..it is kind of true how you go for the atmosphere and all that crap. Lost Vagueness was probably the best place to be, what with all the insane gypsy music and rock and roll DJ's.

It's all about European festivals and ATP from now on I reckon.

glasto is ace even if it rains - which IT WONT THIS YEAR PLEAS!!

We should actually deffo try and get Whiley thrown in a pile of Excrement jsut to see the expression on her face - and also a suitable 'punishment' for 'Colin' and 'Edith'

            • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

I think we should have a DiS meet up and find all these cunty Radio 1 DJ*s, and obviously, find some vats of excrement....

*Less of a DJ and more of a Self-absorbed unfunny twat with very poor taste in music.

I want to be interviewed by them and have a chance to say something veild that get's broadcast

there should be DiS meeting point anyway - am hopefully meeting up with DiS-ers I've already met - then we can all fight over who likes Bright Eyes and ghang up on emily Eavis and storm Worthy Farm house for not putting on the Arcade Fire

  • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

it should also be said that Primal Scream will be playing before them which will be fantastic... though they clash with Bright eyes and The La's. Arse.
    roastthemonaspit | 6 Jun '05, 15:37 | X
    • Re: Glasto Sunday night...

that is a slight consolation prize but they will prob do the same set from 2003 which admitedly was brilliant

cna handle missing the La's - reformed bands should be avoided

        Unless they're the pixies...

God I wish they were playing.
