Thread inspired by the Aisler's Set.
the last one feels like years ago.
a proper outkast album would be nice - a big boi solo album will do though.
roddy woomble, i like my secret is my silence.
Mew Mew Mew Mew Mew
It's been too long!!
apparently.... the bassist has definitely left
is out in may or something.
because it's been 6 years!
three years now...some cities wasn't exactly great though
Wilderness- 'Hiatus' my arse!
I wish they would stop wasting time with rubbish (in comparison) side projects
sunset rubdown and handsome furs are ace. Yeah they're not as good as Wolf Parade but i'd at least call them decent side projects.
if wolf parade didnt exist id rate both highly, but as wolf parade do exist and they are taking away from wolf parade time im harsher on them
I really like Swan Lake too.
Does anyone know how far they've got with that? Because I know they've written new songs...
out in may/june i think.
Thank you! I love you!
I am WELL excited now.
Pure Reason Revolution
just said they are releasing a new one titled narrow stairs
They can't possibly resist the desperate baying of their public any longer! And now the money's there...
HUZZAH for BenefactorsWhoMustNotBeNamed!
if Annie can afford to
I'd completely forgotten about Giant Drag. Their first album was way underrated. Don't they have no drummer now though?
or had when giant drag supported jamc. i really, really hope she does make a new record soon - i think she's got some [more] brilliance in her.
the Giant Drag album is criminally under-rated
and do a massive UK tour too (unlikely)
At the Drive-In: Yeah, Mars Volta are 'hilarious' and all, but, couldn't you go back to being in a band that people actually wanted to listen to?
i'm not sure cedric and omar are done being depressingly pompous yet.
Still a very good band though, they can go too far sometimes but I would much rather listen to them than boring samey sounding indie bands.
I've never heard ATD-I but I am ordering Relationship of Command so I will comment further when I have heard that.
But Tom Vek sometime soon would be nice, it's been three years!
Three years since Illinois, since when there's been an outtakes album, the Christmas box set and whatever The BQE was but no proper new music.
Because after seeing crappy copies of Majesty Snowbird on youtube I really want to hear it in wonderful cd quality.
But I get the feeling it'll be 2009 before he comes out with a new album for some reason.
I know there was a whole article about this, but seriously, it's time for some new material now...
Would be nice but won't happen :(
they meet annually to decide whether to continue with their hiatus or not. I hope they decide not to! If A Silver Mt. Zion's last album is anything to go by any new Godspeed stuff would be amazing.
it says this on their website
"The Belle and Sebastian story will continue when everyone is ready, but in the meantime an album of songs recorded for the Mark Radcliffe and John Peel programmes on Radio 1 between 1996 and 2002 is scheduled for release later this year on Jeepster."
which would suggest that there won't be anything new for a while, though.
Bowie, to erase Reality from my memory
as long as it's not another 100th Window.
Their album has been ready for ages.
bad html was on purpose, promise! dont hurt me.
been (about) 14 years!
where's cobain's tupac-esque post-death recordings?
so not long to wait.
is it meant to be coming out?
If it doesn't this year, I'll be mad.
someone's already done that 'joke', yay! it will never happen, but i'd kill/die/other for jeff mangum to produce anything musical!?! i so recon he has an infinite number of unfinished songs lying about in some form or another??? makes me sad...
sometime soon would be nice
6 years since Neon Golden. I think they may have a follow up album finally out this year, but haven't heard any definite details. Really eager for it.
New band from the ashes of Christiansen. They finished recordings over half a year ago!
Screw a five-year-hiatus; they whave been getting progressively better with each album, Silent Shout being a masterpiece.
(And y'know who else? Sufjan Stevens.)
Who Made Who
Jaques Lu Cont
& Protokoll would be nice
They must be able to milk it with some 'never before heard' sessions.
Read also: Notorious BIG.
Live album & compilations have been great to fill the gap since BLAOR but it should be time for a new one soon. He has one and a half ready apparently but you never know what he will end up releasing and when!
he seemed pretty reluctant to say much about the subject but yeah, one done and halfway through another! The things I'd do just to hear something...
need to get their arses in gear too
it's been nearly 20 years of strikes and record company wrangling...
it's been nearly five years! Although I read somewhere that there'll be new material in 2008...
As already mentioned twice in this thread.
Mm...Food for now. Got the re-issue :D
some more Yndi Halda.
The new song they played at the Luminaire last November sounded awesome, in the literal sense
It's on the way for a looong time.
Doves (is it wrong that i love Some Cities? not many fans in this thread it seems...)
Royksopp really do, by this summer... for a summers worth of listening pleasure.
What happened to Franz Ferdinand?
Boards of Canada? That would make my year so good.
Oh and is it too soon for Animal Collective, !!! or CSS?
I think Daft Punk have given up on regular albums (and are notoriously slow anyway, 4 years between albums so far). They'd be hard pressed to top Discovery anyway
Franz Ferdinand - this year, but some people on here think they may split soon
Animal Collective - too soon
!!! - too soon
CSS - could be this year
have started touring Scotland again, it's a more electronic sound but I think they're honing the current tracks.
In all fairness, from late 2003 up untill Reading '06 they got out two records and toured literally non-stop, so fair play to them for taking a break.
that Franz said themself that they wanted to keep on making music, non-stop, whether it was an album a year or E.P.s and singles. I think Alex said something like them wanting it to be like the Beatles, releasing an album almost every year. I guess the lengthy gap they've had, where there's been pretty much nothing at all got people wondering what they were doing.
...about to post the very same. It has been due for at least the past two years, and yet there still hasn't been a sign of it.
...about Circulatory System.
American Analog Set, The Notwist, Josh T Pearson, Stina Nordenstam, Hood, Hope Sandoval, Tortoise
Mew, Glassjaw and GY!BE and really hope that another Broken Social Scene record gets done.
TV On The Radio (Maybe too soon)
Antony and the Johnsons
the 14yr old in me wants to hear what's been kept so secret all these years
I bet that album NEVER gets released, if it does there'll have to be a megahyper media storm beforehand.
and it's really really good.
