only half sold so far
worst venue I've had the misfortune to watch a band at. Awful. I actually vowed not to go back again.
Granted i've only been the once but i thought it was really good for the size it is
seemed to be multiplied severalfold. Poor transport links (if the Jubilee line's messed up, you're all but shafted), expensive everything, poor accoustics, adverts blaring at you from all angles, arsey staff, massive queue to actually get into the arena bit (even once the main act were onstage).
why i got two off ebay for half price. as a venue it's rubbish up in the top tiers but lower seats were great for prince. any idea of support ?
So far ive heard EITS
i hope its not some silly emo band
not explosions, they're in australia that night (according to their myspace)
but standing sold out the day it was released and seating won't have sold, because who wants to watch the Pumpkins sitting down at the 02 centre?
They should have done some nights at Brixton Academy, but I'm guessing it's just another big half-empty lucrative arena gig for them.
...and for an arena it could be worse. Above a particular line (part way up level 4) it suddenly becomes an unfocussed and inaudible mess. Which managed to ruin the Prince gig I saw there. I only knew about the clearer sound from when I descended the stairs to use the loo during the support act.
This probably explains why some people like it and others don't.
