i am really looking forward to it! :)
i'm about to start an all-four-albums-Stars-binge in preparation
i fucking love Stars!
but have they improved live in recent times? caught them at the garage and it was horrible, that could have been the venue though
and they were fantastic!
i might go.
saw them support the unutterably shite BSS gig they did at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham a couple of years back and they were mince
I re-listened to In Our Bedroom last night, and I think I've badly misjudged it
Stars - 21.30 - 23.00
Apostle of Hustle - 20.30 - 21.00
The Thurston Revival - 19.30 - 20.00
I AM I AM I AM.
and they were great.
They went onstage late and had to cut the set a bit short due to the curfew but they came outside with an acoustic guitar and some percussion and treated us to 'Time Can Never Kill The True Heart' and 'Calendar Girl' in the courtyard bit outside the Barfly.
They were great at the Scala in October, far better than I was expecting. Hope they're as good tonight...
i saw them in Glasgow on Sunday night.
I thought they were pretty fantastic actually.
Overall - average.
not great, not world beating, not omg best gig ever. but very good, and i'm well glad i went, if only for the fact they played Going, Going, Gone AND Elevator Love Letter
