worth listening to?
you'll be very lucky if you find more than 5 or 6 songs to listen to though
Google can't find me anything :(
on a last fm page randomly.
it's got four songs on it
i asked someone for 1 song and they sent me a sendspace of 4, the other 3 i already had on last.fm
was just clicking random shit and happened to come across your profile. Weird isn't it?
Try Harder records are going to release a compilation thing this year, around september
Their best track is the Noisestar Session 005 12" - http://www.noisestar.co.uk probably still have a few copies left. AMAZING. I have all three of those session discs.
I have one from a split with YMSS, one from the Silver Rocket SR50 compilation and at least one other from their old website download.
my quiet heart's slight of hand (noisestar)
horses (ymss split)
two broke kids (random find)
cans of rainwater (on their site?)
and a bootleg from bristol
they were too too good, so amazing. i hope yannis decides to return to "self indulgent" music sometime, as much fun as foals are.
is amazing. the songs are brilliant.
I hope yannis goes back to this lot too. fantastic.
Lina decided she wanted to do other things in her life and Yannis and Jack formed a new band that happened to be brilliant also. Well that's as I understood it.
I only managed to see Edmund Fitzgerald three times I think. :(
think lina and yannis speak to each other any more.... a reformation would be extremely unlikely. But we should campaign to make Lina start making music again, because she was the one with all the talent!
on a jon quil track, i think. was on a dis podcast thing.
the ed fitz > foals.
track 4 on the first album, whatever it was called. guests on the new album too...
i listen to the ed fitz, i feel both inspired and downhearted. talented bastards.
they used their talents for good :)
Still don't get the massive fuss though
My Quiet Hearts Slight Of Hand is amazing. I wish Foals would sound a little bit more like that :(
But it's a bit more of the same for me (even thought they probably came before most of the soundalikes).
The drummer can't use his double bass pedal very can he?
Though I haven't listend to Foals enough to judge if he's using the double with them.
I think it works well on My Quiets Heart...
He sounds pretty impressive in Foals. I guess he's just got alot better.
The Ed Fitz stuff, while being 'mathy' was quite experimental where Foals are hitting more of a 'dancy' (I suppose) stride.
he was ok in ed fitz, but if you hear him fucking around in soundcheck or whatever now he's quite the beast
the opposite of above, when they did the 20 min track that was almost supernatural in it's timings and stop-start thingies (how did they do all those time changes?), and made youthmovies soundtrack strateies sound like S Club that night - incedentally an amazing bill! those two, part chimp and oxes, like wow...!
i think they were supposed to records some stuff with the guy out of oxes, before they split...
Its Quite ace but Sounds almost nothing like Foals though.
mixed/mastered the tracks that were supposed to go on the ed fitz album before they split up.
i may well be mistaken though, but i think that's what i read on their album a couple of years ago
I was at that gig, good ol Vacuous Pop
they sound pretty good, but the recordings aren't tight to be honest. I think early Youthmovies stuff is in the same vein, but without the (pretty bad) use of double pedal and a lot tighter and more energetic. Listen to the Let's Get Going... You're Fracturing Me With This Misery EP by YMSS, it's fucking awesome.
but its a pretty fucking meaningless entry.
LIKE A DICK.
