Anyone been to see Meet Me In St Louis on their current tour yet? If so, what did you think?
but get off this here forum Kev and crack on with all those emails you should be replying too ;-P
I'm on it
think they work really well as an instrumental band! seen them twice without toby and they've been ace.
Yeah, I saw them on friday in Sunderland.
Was quite odd and very disorientating, but I still enjoyed it quite a lot, obviously not as good as when Toby was there as you can tell that its missing something but still fairly good.
Blakfish were awesome as well, and Spy Versus Spy were really good, good gig overall.
at Talking Heads.
Wasn't sure how it would sound without Toby but was pleasantly surprised. You can appreciate how good musicians the rest of the band are. I thought it worked quite well as an instrumental, i enjoyed it.
Was quite funny to see some of the audience sing along to instrumental songs. My memory with lyrics is terrible.
I enjoyed Blakfish also, but they played last, which was strange.
Caesura we're very good in parts aswell.
Missed Spy v Spy however :s
I really liked MMISL instrumentally though. Thought they still had enough about them to keep the interest there. To be honest at times I thought that they could function perfectly well without a front-man. It was odd, and a little sad, without Toby there though.
One of my mates is a big MMiSL fan, but he's seen them since the singer left and says they're still class. He was saying how you can see how technical the rest of the band is now, and notice so much more.. I'm not surprised.
Also mentioned the random former 'backing' vocals still being shouted. :P
I'm glad that people are enjoying the gigs and I agree about it showing off how good the music is.
Just listening to the album for the first time this year. How I've managed to go nearly a month without it I don't know!
but they were never really lacking on the instrumental side were they?
some bits of the songs were missing something obviously, but if they fancied going instrumental i reckon they could do it :)
Might even be going by myself but I'm not that bothered as I haven't seen them since July now which is ridiculous, and I think Lewis owes me a drink anyway haha.
