yay :) greatest composer alive?
Apart from 7 Antiphons. But they're quite good. Have you heard Passio?
Also, greatest composer alive? John Adams? Judith Weir?
but not the greatest composer alive. Not even the greatest minimalist composer alive (Steve Reich, shirley?).
No he's not.
Unless he's died today or something, and I've not read the news.
That's brilliant, and makes me happy. I thought he died in 1991.
How weird that I'd have a very precise date of something that didn't happen...
was John Cage, I believe.
i've seen nothing but rave reviews. i have no idea which music to look up first? any ideas?
Tabula Rasa (Concerto for prepared piano & orchestra)
The Hanging Man (which is very short, but one of the best bits of music ever written)
Cantus in memoriam Benjamin Britten
Fratres for violin and piano
i'll look them up
