What a magical album, really...
I wonder who's gonna post february's "fugazi - the argument" thread!
Just had it on and had to share...
2:11 - 2:55 in Epic Problem is one of my favourite passages of music ever.
Plus the rest of the album is pretty good too.
that dreamy bit before the end of 'the argument'
so out the blue when i first heard it
and strangelight is a modern rock classic
It's amazing... the little passage at the end of Full Disclosure still floors me every time I hear it.
how fast does yr heart beat?
but bought the new Charlottefield album and Portishead tickets instead.
Next week, though...
Plus my 3 year old daughter loves 'Waiting Room' (second only to 'Stinkfist' by tool as her preferred song to mosh around the living room to)
Where does that rank amongst their albums?
I see it as completely different to the likes of The Argument...it's a bit patchy but I'm sure most people on here would disagree with me.
has a special place in my heart, as it's the first fugazi album i really 'got'... the others are probably better in different ways but i love it.
I HAVE A NAME NOT JUST A NUMBER ONE TWO THREE REPEATER!
one of the top two fugazi albums, surely?
that and Killtaker. Red Medicine in 3rd.
Nightshop. It seems quite underrated. Handclaps :)
is great mannn
bass arpeggiated bit!
you've been HEAVILY into a band for the best part of 10 years (or your entire teenage life) and, towards the end, they start releasing albums that don't quite sound as good (to you) as their earlier stuff and you can't quite put your finger on it, but they're just missing that quality you fell in love with all those years ago? Well, that's 'The Arguement' for me.
When you hear 'In On The Kill Taker' as a 13 year old and it pretty much kicks you in the head and blows every musical perception you have out of the water, 'The Arguement' doesn't even come close.
and marvel at the fact that The Argument is a completely different style, yet not inferior to ANYTHING? as in, its not like suddenly theyve become a shit version of another band, just a brand new, fucking wonderful thing?
it's not wrong to prefer the early stuff, but the new stuff (lets include end hits with it) is fantastic on its own terms
on the quality of the tunes or the fact that whatever the hell they do, Fugazi are still head and shoulders above most other bands ('End Hits' could have been one of my faves if they'd spent less time producing it), just that, say, a song like 'Nightshop' with acoustic guitars and filtered drums isn't really what i grew up adoring about this band and i have a right to have a preference for the earlier stuff, the stuff that really affected me. Nobody is right or wrong and people are more than entitled to love 'The Arguement' over any of their other albums. What do i care?
I don't really care what album is supposedly "better". In my opinion 'In On The Killtaker' is a dark and scary masterpiece. Kinda like the rock OK Computer. Hahah ;)
4.Repetaer and 3 songs
5.in on the kill taker
6.steady diet of nothing
Definitely one of their best, if not the best album they ever did.
You heard the Killtaker demos they recorded with steve albini?
