king Creosote @ ABC, Glasgow last night.
He was fucking superb. He is such a charming guy with a beautiful voice. I want to have his voice, what a lovely accent!
Great between song banter too - he managed to tell us about Zelda on the N64 <3
James Yorkston was supporting...I was high unimpressed.
Thoughts?
yes, clean your ears out
James Yorkston was great, even though I arrived late and missed his set ;)
I take it that was you who handed Kenny the note wanting to love him longtime
good gig, good atmosphere, working on my photos just now. I was over where all the drunk women were after I left the photopit
I was up in the raised area by the bar.
Some fucker wouldn't stop talking through his quiet songs at the end, it made me mad. I hate inconsiderate people at gigs.
Maybe I'd have to hear JY recorded first to fully appreciate him, that's the first I've heard/seen of the bloke.
there were some people behind me
gabbing away during the quieter tracks at the end, may have been the same guy as he was really noticeable
I've seen James Yorkston a couple of times before, first time was at a thing with lots of bands and to me he was easily the best. When I left ABC tonight I stuck my ipod on, random shuffle as usual and it was James Yorkston who came on, whooh, spooky. I missed him tonight due to culmination of events
pretty mobbed tonight, impressive following for them. Don't know how many times I've seen King Creosote, at least five, saw them in Berlin on my birthday in 2006 :)
I saw him at the ABC
last time he played and there were loud, ignorant fuckers talking the whole way through the set. I just dont get why you would go to a gig to stand about chatting to your mates the whole time.
more disposable income
I think gigs have become more of a social event for people who couldn't really care less about music. There's a few on here who think if you've paid your money to get in it's your god given right to stand and talk during the bands or shout frightfully amusing abuse at them if they don't think they're up to their impeccably high standards and that everyone will think it was worth paying in to hear them instead of the band
a bit extreme, maybe, but I'm all in favour of a sniper in the rafters equipped with tranquillizer darts for the worst offenders
I missed out on seeing him october :(
BUT, saw him a year earlier :).
He was fantastic that night too, I was surprised that he is the one hitting the high notes in So Forlon, I thought it was his chum KT.
tonight
I'm off to see him at the Sage in Gatesheed the neet. Think Pip Dylan is supporting
here's some of my photos from it
