was nice enough, layers of melodies all ascending in the right places etc etc. Bit boring watching one man on a laptop playing solitaire while iTunes does all the hard work.
EITS were good but people talking, clapping-and not even in time-was a bit annoying. They were still great though and i had a good time.
on wednesday. I seem to remember last I saw them, people were just shouting out crap as they'd spent about 8 minutes building up for a cataclysmic crescendo. Must've been pretty offputting
last year some geeky little shit next to me wanted to illustrate to everyone in the audience how well he knew the tunes by SINGING the guitar melodies with a "la dee dee de dah" kind of style.
Fortunately his friends challenged his behaviour and he replied with a comment which I will take to the grave of "yes, sorry, I know I'm a SUPER FAN" as if that justified his irritating antics.
I'm telling you - the dweeb was a hairs bredth from getting a beating there and then.
thankfully no such acts like clapping along, but plenty of dicks talking throughout Eluvium's set which was disappointing.
EITS were pretty solid. Included Day Six from The Rescue which was nice.
EITS House Party
With Mr Blobby.
It honestly wasnt that dis-similar
Was horrendous, this must stop now.
what next?
people getting gunged at EITS gigs??
Actually...
i was 99% certain that this would say
someone died of boredom
clapping though? hahahahahahahaha. that's everything EITS deserve.
sounds almost as bad
as people singing along to Atlas
That really would be awful
Especially if they had a really joyous look on their faces. Must make sure I never see that or legs will get broken.
Singing along to Atlas = awesome
In the car - yes
In public - no
From what I remember
this happened during one song at least at their last astoria show. No clapping during Gravenhurst though :(
^ definitely happened when
the amps spontaniously combusted!
i was there!
The guys next to me shouted, "Explosions in the amp!"
very droll...
Was it a good gig tho?
How was Eluvium? Dunno if I can be arsed hauling myself up to Dublin tomorrow to see the show.
Show was...
...in all honesty, a route one post-rock show. Mogwai still do it so much better.
6 out of 10.
The show started well, but got samey and wasnt punishing enough. Seem like nice chaps though and there was good merch so not all bad.
(not going to get a job as a music journalist am I?)
Didnt see the support
so cant comment on that one.
Eluvium support slot

Have just remembered the clapping
dear god
i looked for you
but didnt see you :(
I was there
near the sound desk, generally getting annoyed with the people around me.
sorry Matthew
sorry
Bloody indie
a mate in bristol went to this
I bet he won't like it seeing, like me, his best gig in Bristol was Mogwai in 1999 at the Anson Rooms with 13 minutes of pure beautiful feedback
why dont other postrock
bands ever get that pure loud chest hurting bassiness that mogwai do in good venues?
EITS definitely got that.
That 1999
Mogwai show was too good.
going to the astoria show
on wednesday. I seem to remember last I saw them, people were just shouting out crap as they'd spent about 8 minutes building up for a cataclysmic crescendo. Must've been pretty offputting
yeah im going on wednesday too
and yes when they played with four tet in newcastle a couple of years back there were people being pricks
i want to go on wednesday
but being disorganised i haven't got a ticket, touts had them at cost last time, might try my luck?
when EITS toured

Cunt.
what kind of sat did they play?
did 'your hand in mine' feature?
set*
foo'
Yeah they played that
i think. Think they played quite a lot off that record.
Brighton wednesday,
thankfully no such acts like clapping along, but plenty of dicks talking throughout Eluvium's set which was disappointing.

Why is that some fuckers think they can talk the whole way through gigs like this?
I told the mob behind me to can it after hearing for the fiftieth time that one of them would "do 'er like an animal". I hate 'indie' being popular.
