Very good, very talented musicians with a lot of good songs - but no soul.
It all seems very much 'on the surface' somehow, with Led Zep. They aren't feelin the blues enough. They're feelin it enough to sell millions of records, but not enough to convince me.
The Stones were being true to the blues on Exile on Main St. The Small Faces were true to the blues in the early days. But Led Zep don't got it. Their souls weren't as into it as they should've been. Some authenticity missing, somehow.
Do you hear me, or do you not hear me?
