What album/ep would I be best off starting with?
didnt like the 2nd one, havent heard any more
is the standard reply
and it's the correct one. Amazing album.
is just so much better then anything else they have done
is the best thing they've done, but it's only a song, not an album.
and it was brilliant.
just as good as music has the rights to children, and probably a better 'starting point' i reckon.
the EPs are all solid.
don't get the campfire headphase. i stole that from hmv and felt ripped off.
well, it's not that bad, just a bit 'meh'. no variation in pace or mood throughout the whole thing really.
from there maybe try skam & geogaddi.
then music has the right.... but get 'in a beautiful place' it's soooo good.
also find out the single/ep with 'everything you do is a balloon.'
Nlogax is pure audio gravy.
'zoetrope' is just gorgeous. and 'amo bishop roden' was the basis for one of our songs, so it's really very good.
You can't really go wrong with Boards as long as you don#t start with Campfire Headphase
then geogaddi. the campfire was far too zero sevenish
- Trans Canada Express
great, but also all pretty different. Makes sense to get MHTRTC first.
Theres a song on the Old Tunes compilation (which you'd have to search Soulseek or something for) called 5.7.78, which is pretty damn amazing, probably their best to my ears.....
is my favourite. therefore you should definately get that
are my favourite ever
is the best place to start - it's their most playful album, the most nostalgic sounding, with the most charming samples (such as Lesley Neilson narrating a nature program and the inexplicable 'Orange!' call-outs in the wonderful, wonderful Aquarius)
Geogaddi takes a little more listening to get into, but there's some fun back-story to the album about Satanism.
The Campfire Headphase is a little 'by numbers' if anything by BoC can be called that, but it does feature their absolute *best* tune, Dayvan Cowboy, which is worth the asking price alone.
A Beautiful Place Out in the Country is a great EP if you can find it.
track is on geogaddi..
then music has the right then do what you want...you can't go that wrong.
incidentally until 2 days ago i lived 10 seconds away from the trans canada highway
great song to hear when you're on a plane
find that slag boom van loon album with 2 boc remixes on. also the clouddead remix they did was incredible. probably the best thing they have done since geogaddi
