What's it like? I think we're the West End Centre in February and I'm curious as to what to expect...
kind of a strange place, it was a friday night and as there was nothing much else to do around there it turned into a bit of a youth club, not a bad size venue or stage though.
I think it's gonna be a bit of a weird gig as, assuming it comes off, we'll be on first and really early, which we've not really done for a while. I'm really looking forward to not playing in London for a change though!
think im going there to see the new band that hikikomori broadcast have put together... 'crowns on the rates orchestra' i believe, on the 25th.
'cos I'm stupidly excited by it and feel I'll be tempting fate by saying and then it won't come off...
they're actually fucking amazing.
I havent heard anything by the new band, but its just having to travel from southampton to go, which involves about 6 trains and 4 hours of travelling. :/
I'll probably still do it though.
prefer the new band (from the stuff i've heard)
surely you can just go from southampton-basingstoke-brookwood-aldershot... getting back might be a bit of a cunt though...
I think that's the key question I forgot to put in the thread title...
hampshire. pretty much on the surrey border
i was born there. so was the singer from six by seven. ahh. memories (he was a twat though)
Change at Woking
Win at life.
i'd really like to see that. and it's the day before zonino and it's kind of near london.
I WANT TO GO.
my birthday party!!!
played there loads.
they supply you with pizza, which is enough for me.
generally really good sound as well.
one of my favourite venues to play infact
draws farnborough/guildford/farnborough etc crowd incase you are worried it would just be squadies
I'll just be pleased if there's people!
be dead, but it can also be rammed. depends who else is playing really. hopefully the whole "the westy nearly closing" thing, it'll draw more people now.
Deepcut or Colchester and the remaining 'squaddies' are unlikely to go to a gig at the West End Centre.
like i was
but put farnborough twice
the west end centre was weird. i saw oceansize there. i remember counting the people in the crowd.
'going out with' someone in a band when they played the west end centre in 2004 and have nothing but ace memories of the gig and venue and aftershow party. woo
This is all sounds very reassuring.
The gig itself is near to sold out too so I'm told so, assuming we get it confirmed, it's just a case of whether people come down early enough to watch us!
And also the minor detail that our drummer probably can't make the gig so I'm gonna have to find a spare drummer within the next month but I'm working on that...
yr onto a winner.
if you get confirmed.
That'd be interesting but we're probably not metal enough...
My first proper girlfriend lives in Aldershot!
I'd quite happily see both towns burnt to the ground!
aldershot can burn.
i used to work in MADHOUSE there.
that'd be nice.
But if you could leave a lit cigarette behind when you leave, that would be great.
Plus I don't know enough about pyrotechnics to use a cigarette in a effective enough way to take out an entire town.
I'm probably not the best person for the job I'm afraid.
On the downside the Headliner'd never ask us to play with them again. And no-one else'd book us either...
It's a tough call.
even though it was small and crap. i used to live in scumsville sandy hill when i was a student.
were from aldershot.
is stuck in the 1960s
Well, is it?
5 Sons of Drona play at The Maltings in Farnham once.
It were amazing.
