Amazing, don't you think?
like the strokes and stuff? yeah it is.
and the title of their third album.
i wasn't be facetious i genuinely didn't know that.
No Lucifer is the best song ever. ever. ever. ever.
"A Carlton Corsair/We'll ride twenty years/A little lost roe deer/The wind in your hair/No Lucifer" <3
they're developed loads as lyricists and the sound has really become their own but still full of really lovely snatches of fantastic bands that have influenced them (though admittedly it's VERY Julian Cope)
and it's like just awesome
and it is indeed amazing!
but now I know them, it's even more cemented as the best chorus of the year. Definitely the best song they've ever written in their lives. What a bloody fantastic album. Can't wait for the Leeds Irish Centre show. Not seen them since 2003 :-(
I'm just gonna buy it when comes out.
But I'm seeing them at the arches in a few weeks. WHEEEEEE it's gonna be great-o.
is great. I love the simple chorus "No Lucifeeeer".
I reckon the best bit on the album is No need to cry and Open the door, though.
Ace ace ace.
i am yet to hear it but will be patient and wait untill its released.
The new songs i've heard played live are ace though so really looking forward to it.
as you could of hoped, shits all over the previous release
in a slightly ungainly way when I first heard it, but I've since come to accept it.
Also, it doesn't go all the way through the song (which is ace).
it's the most perfect song ever written
and the whole album sounds like an early Cope b-sides compilation. what could be better?
loads of people are gonna get way too into the whole "EASY! EASY!" thing.
because The Wave Pictures are playing in Manchester on the same day! Eat it, tide of popular enthusiasm.
but there's something not quite right with the production. The whole sound of the record just puts me off.
taking me a while to get into - like their other albums did.
I'm finding the beginning of the record more interesting that the latter half, but maybe that again is due to a lack of plays.
This is going to be the 2008 album that everyone goes mad about in January and completely forgets about when it comes to end of year lists.
for me last year.
I fear the same for this.
maybe a week on...
Waving Flags is out as a single on Monday.
for the 11th time!!! cant wait!!! although im slightly saddened by the news of the wave pictures playing on the same night!?! however, it shall be grand!!! GRAND!!!
..my only real complaint is the lack of massive ending like Lately or True Adventures. Other than that though, good stuff! Not going to get to see them in Jan though :(
