I'm interviewing this utter oddball (albeit nice chap) called Jason Wakefield in a fortnight at Josephs Well in Leeds. After listening to his myspace songs I scoffed at first, but after a few listens he really has something going. I don't know the guy, he was just on my list of gigs that I'm off to in January.
He plays piano like matt bellamy, sings like mark greaney and fashions himself on some weird cross breed of brian molko and mansun. The first track and 'mirror of a sinner' are tunes I think, and although his voice is the weakest weapon in his disposal there's something there. I dunno. He's different at least anyway..
The second track actually lifts the piano part off ruled by secrecy, but why not eh. bellamy did it to rachmaninov.
