you listened to in 2008?
Dont know why but I chose Cinderella 'Heartbreak Station'
i think it might be... yeasayer's. or something else. whatever plays.
It was an extremely pleasant experience, and a nice way to wake myself up on the way to work. Hadn't listened to it in a few months. It really is much better than Funeral, isn't it?
Oh and now I want to listen to Strangers Almanac.
I've ever regretted listening to it before...
Satanic panic in the attic is currently in the lead.
Lift Your Skinny Fists
Starting 2008 in suitably epic mode.
Menomena - Friend and Foe. It was quite enjoyable.
southampton this morning: Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose
Great way to start the year I reckon.
At 3am. No reason why, but it sounded great to my sleepy ears.
Turn On The Bright Lights
In the bath, without even realising the significance of it! Had been ages, and i enjoyed it very much.
it was the 90s chart dance hitz mix they played in the pub last night
slightly less technically it was Desire by Pharoahe Monch, the album i listened to when i got home in a state (because it was in the player, and i wasn't in any position to change it)
even less technically, the first thing i'm listening to today is I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen (because i'm feeling fragile, and so couldn't handle anything other than smooth crooning and Lucasarts point 'n' click midi-jazz)
whilst attempting to cook at lunchtime
Steve Earle - 'Transcendal Blues'
olivia tremor control
Just kind of drifted into the new year really in an underwhelming fashion. Ought to set the tone quite appropriately, I feel.
But you know what I mean.
good hangover music
first post of 2008!
Safe As Houses
but only because i just downloaded it from emusic.
What a weird way to start the year.
was The Piano Has Been Drinking by Tom Waits. Great stuff.
well, the first thing i put on today was Broken Social Scene/Kevin Drew's Spirit if.., but technically at about 12.15 am we had Beckfest '08 so i guess that counts?
by Okkervil River.
Swiftly followed by Kid A, though I really wanted to listen to In Rainbows but the wife didn't have it on her Sansa
Walking Cloud And Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered And The Sun Shined
It's a good 'un.
Got it for Xmas and havent listened to it properly until now
split album be realistic demand the impossible
Iggy & the Stooges
The Shape of Punk to Come
Can I scream?
quite loudly after midnight, and then danced to the rest of the Sounds of Science before I promptly passed out.
God, they're probably the best pop band ever. Not one of their songs is a dud.
Except maybe oscillate wildly.
Hungover and feeling like death, in bed. Marvellous.
Closer! I've had a happy New Years Day!
Explosions in the Sky while making lunch for my family today.
The Wave Pictures
in rainbows. Surprise surprise. Didn't listen to all of it though, but especially chose 'Nude' to hear first.
But also didn't play it all the way through.
Then played songs from random albums as I am currently trying to decide on tracks for a compilation I'm creating.
I will make one for myself and then for some of my friends as they wont of heard a lot of the stuff on it.(I'm purposely leaving out the more well known music I like).
I love doing things like this.
Which I just finished playing before seeing this thread. Best of the 2008 albums I've heard so far, though I've only heard a sampler of Hot Chip as yet so that may yet win.
Apologies To The Queen Mary
much to boo's from fellow party people
Amazing way so start 2008.
