Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit.
Why do people like it?
It is poo poo.
Cow pat poo.
a sexy, flirtatious little beast.
i don't understand why everybody has such wet underwear for it. I enjoy it, but it's nothing to behold and cherish.
And the same goes for LCD Soundsystem.
tons better than the Animal Collective one though.
Or gash cos the album is gash.
I'm not going to say "no, it's not!", as that is my opinion, but i thought Strawberry Jam was fantastic. I do like Panda Bear, i just don't get why the huge fuss.
Person Pitch is a fucking masterpiece.
G to the A to the S to the H.
The untitled solo had some nice stuff but PP is utter trash. No substance. It doesn't even compare to feels or SJ (or even PR, which had some superb songs once reversed).
The album is absolutely fucking classic!! Give it a few more listens!!
and this is from someone who can rarely listen to an entire Animal Collective song without doing a Hubert-Farnsworth-esque "Whaa?"/dazedly-wandering-off-into-the-background routine.
its one of those things that when someone says its genius everyone just follows along because they are too scared to say they didn't get it. the snowball effect. i'm not saying that many people won't genuinely like this album but its no classic. on first listen i would have given it album of the year but on repeated listens it revealed less and less about itself and is nothing more than just nice sounds and nothing more substantial. its like a macdonalds meal - you might think that you are full but you are not. its also rips off the first couple of adventures in stereo records something rotten.
When someone - more often than not, a poster on an internet forum - thinks they know the minds of others so much better than those people do, that said poster can - and does, at every available opportunity - actually tell others why they enjoy something (or not, on a case-by-cased basis).
9 times out of 10, this will involve telling them that they do not enjoy a product for its positive qualities, but because hella other guys do.
Common phrases used will include 'sheep' and 'emperor's new clothes.'
The Gifted Perception Effect is, generally speaking, hugely insulting to those who enjoy said product. One famous example of the destructive potential of a GPE is, of course, World War II, where one Joseph Goldstein famously told a young Adolf Hitler that he didn't *really* like the new direction his favourite Bavarian chamber music outfit had taken; he was just into it because all his mates were.
that i've actually bought. out of those five, it's the best, although i haven't played it since the winter has taken over.
It's very nice. It sounds like Pet Sounds submerged in echo.
where i stand on this album.
my mate has been playing it over the last few weeks. Its really spacious with melodys being brought in every so often. yet nothing of real substance!!!
when i found out it was one guy i still didnt know weather to be impressed or shrug me shoulders.
maybe it is just shit.
it's more of a collection of songs than an album for me.
I take please in just listening to 'Take Pills' and 'Bros' than listening to the album all the way through.
