the right of that page there is a Ben Gibbard cover of Thriller! This is amazing!
Nothing on the original.
That page did link to the new Magnetic Fields song though, which was excellent, so cheers for the link.
I want to hear British Sea Power doing Caribou now.
Have they sung on record before or is this new ground for them?
a lot on MR Beast. well, a bit.
this is rubbish.
There are mumbles on a few of their records, sporadically.
is a cover they did (for a peel session i think) of guns n roses' 'dont cry'
it's really sweet
I heard Dial/Revenge on an NME cd sampler thing a few years ago that had Gruff Rhys on vocals. Not sure if's been on an album, though
Their best album imho.
Couple of others on that album also have vocals, very nice they are too.
cody on cody, then they dis a few with that god awful wobbly voice effect, then I stopped caring
the 'would you miss me, when i'm gone, is there a love there' bit because it is definately sung which rules out moffat
that's Stuart singing that bit. He sung on a few early-ish Mogwai numbers ('Cody', a few tracks on 'Rock Action'), but nowadays it seems Barry's their main vocalist (he does most of the 'Mr Beast' vocals, and the vocoder ones on 'Happy Songs...'). I think John sings on 'Boring Machines Disturbs Sleep', off of 'Happy Songs...'. As I understand it, Stuart, Mogwai's de facto frontman, is incredibly uncomfortable with singing, perhaps explaining why his already sparodic vocal duties have now been taken over by Barry? Haven't been able to listen to 'Gouge Away' yet, though, so I dunno who sings on that.
obviously not as good without aidan's dulcet tones, but I still find it quite wonderful.
had vocals - just not very prominent or regular ones. in fact their first single 'tuner' had semi-proper singing.
