are automatically 20% better. that is all.
name some venues you're fond of, if you wish.
it's so nice and spacious.
I saw Soulsavers there, and there is a cool smokers terrace upstairs for those interested in that sort of thing..
on top of all that, the lighting against the beautiful plasterwork is impressive too.
saw the shins there, seeing st vincent tomorrow, happy.
i secretly like koko too.
they were so much better there than at other places i've seen them at.
you'll enjoy st. vincent, she's pretty amazing :)
saw her support sufjan stevens in nov last year
THAT was good
and luminaire if I am near the front
saw Of Montreal there which was mint
never been to the luminaire - my mum is going on sunday to see some country dude, and i wanted to see jens lekman there but sold out.
I am also fond of Dingwalls and Bardens
night. yeh the new terrace bit at the top is really nice, been refurbished. beautiful venue.
i really liked the Coronet, people should do more gigs there. also i like the Roundhouse. and the Astoria....
you mean i could've meeted jamie_summers_of_the_internet?
it looked a bit different from the last time i went, and the door lady told me it had a bit of a spruce-up.
i was there to meet people about something and then actually had to leave before they went on stage!
am gutted at myself that i never made the effort to go there when i lived literally 5 doors down from it.
but Bush Hall is pretty much my least favourite venue in town. Awful acoustics, horrible decor, little atmosphere, crap bar, terrible location, etc.
I like The Borderline and The Luminaire myself. Barfly's also fun in a upstairs-of-a-pub kinda way.
5mins from shepherds bush h&c or 10 from central line tube?
this is my own prejudice towards just hating Shepherds Bush as an area.
has been made so better by knowing that Jamie Summers was there for a short while, I literally could have been standing on the same bit of carpet as him at any time! True Celeb
eh? are you deaf?
I'm actually a sound engineer so being deaf would be something of a hindrance. The acoustics are pants. The ceiling's far too high for it to be a proper live music venue, and if you're any further than ten or fifteen metres from the stage then the reflections really start to colour the sound, unbearably so towards the back of the room (which, for some bizarre reason, is where the front-of-house mixing desk is).
zing of the day
with a similar capacity (350) has better acoustics than Bush Hall?
but it's been absolutely ridiculously hot in there at times. The Broadcast gig in July 2006 was possibly the hottest I've ever been in this country.
quite cold during support acts for Efterklang. I could be ill.
I have so many good memories from being there. Same for The Underworld, although I haven't been there in years.
tiny pa at the front of the hall - not enough
Is a great venue if the right band are put on and the crowd aren't too restless.
its unbelievably awesome
i saw patrick wolf there and it was fantastic, one of the best gigs i saw this year.
because the pews hurt their bumbums, yeah?
it's even prettier during the day when the sunlight shine through the skylights - saw the sleeping years at a lunchtime gig there.
