are pretty awesome i think.
favourite songs? and best record? i think automatic.
between honeys dead and Psychocandy,
psycocandy has the atmospheric value, yet honeys dead has the energy.
Automatic has some awesome songs but a bit overproduced and trademark sound.
Favourite songs: somethings wrong, the hardest walk, far gone and out, snakedriver, between planets
Psychocandy is the winner by a country mile, gorgeous noise and all-out feedback.
It's the biggest no-brainer of all time.
meant to say LACKS trademark sound
...is one of my all-time favourite songs, not just by The Jesus and Mary Chain.
And yeah, Psychocandy all the way.
and saying Darklands is my favourite JAMC album. Just Like Honey is my favourite song.
darklands is ace.
i'm only happy when it rains.
such a good good band
is my favourite track, fav album is Psychocandy, I have an original NME 7" freebie of Some Candy Talking which is my fav 'record' im the strict sense
most under-rated album ever
Head On, Never Understand, Down on me are all faultless tracks.
Album? That's tough, they are surprisingly diverse. Im gonna say Stoned and Dethroned cos I think its massively underrated.
Darklands and Psychocandy are also contenders.
Automatic is a bit slick and the songs a bit samey with the pumping blues thing. Honey's dead I liked a lot more when it came out than I do now.
favorite song? coast to coast, my little underground, etc.
is their best record IMO by a long, long way, although Darklands and Automatic are pretty good by other bands standards too.
Their first 9-10 singles and most of the b-sides were pretty much untouched by anyone at the time.
Honey's Dead to Psychocandy. By quite a bit too, am I a monster?
Reverence, Almost Gold, Tumbledown are all so good it hurts.
It compiles all their b-sides and rarities.
a lovely feedback drenched version of Surin' USA
and my own personal favourite Kill Surf City.
with Automatic second
but less predictably my second favourite is Munki - I think it's a massively underrated. Cracking Up, I Hate R&R, Commercial and Supertramp are all essential JAMC songs.
Fav song....maybe Reverence.
Still can't believe I missed the Brixton show earlier this year, DESPITE actually having tickets. Annoying....
But, say, 7 times out of 10 I'd put Darklands on instead.
listening to a place to bury stangers and thinking its very jamc. automatic is my fav jamc record song is a lot harder, maybe taste the floor.
I loved Pyschocandy at the time, but listening to it now, it hasn't dated very well. Darklands has the better tunes.
is totally JAMC
it has tunes
and real noise
so beats every JAMC copyist I've ever heard
and they are legion
remember barry's rant in 'high fidelity'!
i've found everything else by jamc to be monumentally dull in comparison.
