best live band in the world.
although i was stood right at the front. my mate stood further back said the sound was wank. oh well
really electric band
they were fucking incredible
yeh i was at the front aswell and the sound was fine. i was dissapointed slightly with the rest of the crowd who seemed to not realise a band was playing... but dancing with the singer made up for it.
did you get the guitar, or was that the guy on the other side of me?
most of the people in the fav looked like they were just there for bad sneakers, and when i went for a slash, the boys toilet looked more like the girls toilet, with a load of trendy kids with tight pants and big hair looking at themselves in the mirror for 5 minutes and talking about shoes
I hate Leeds.
i can't wait until they play somewhere near me.
srsly guys, any closer than london and i'm there :'(
the only band i've seen with two drumemrs was Trail of Dead the other month. (But that was special :) )
I hope they come near me soon I wanna see what the fuss is about!
t'other week :( But i was gonna go for the antipodean delights Cut Off Your Hands originally. I heard the Danananana were good, tho
best live band ever and very different from any other band around.
tis the one.
my friend wrote this review.
Tis only a 5 track EP
in which case its a mini album :)
...gonna try and get the album sorted for the first half of 2008...
But there are much better bands kicking around Scotland right now.
apart from the 2 that are up on myspace?
the artwork lookings neato.
and wish scottish bands ben? what's happening with ex-wives nowaday, they seem to have done fuck all recently.
They'd get the album done in a week. All the tracks are done, just no one to release it. I think i'm going to just give them the £100...

i particularly liked avast! and ordered their album.
kaddish are really good too.
brought to you by the word of the day, "chopin".

The Greater Than Symbol & The Hash
One After One
Cleaning Each Other
apart from errors
but live, danana are better than all of them.
though i am totally in love with copy haho at the moment, ive only got about 6 or 7 tracks though, they need to put something new out soon, jealous were supposed to be doing a single but it's fallen through
any idea what groaner are doing nowadays? wasn't my kappa roots joining them?
i missed copy haho, chin up chin up and held by hands in leeds because i couldnt find the venue - i was so so so annoyed...but i had only just moved to leeds the day before...
yeh - danana were the most fun band ive seen for a very long time - just so so good live...
I didn't really find them that interesting to be honest.
Kappa is away in France just now, but yeah, i haven't a clue if they are/were doing something together.
I've not seen danana live, but the music just doesn't grab me. I'd take Avast over most scottish things these days.
I'm see Copy Haho tomorrow night. Should be good.
kappa is the new bonnie prince billy mixed with alasdair roberts... don't know if he would sell any records.
households are another no-wave band and i had enough of no-wave.
i don't like copy haho, saw them live and they need to work hard to put together a good live set as it was so damn boring that i had to leave.
I like PVH, didn't like Kaddish at all, a bit too prog for my tastes and talkingmakenosense is very Eno but i quite like him.
i still think danana have great potential also because they don't only play they actually entertain the crowd.
last week and they are boring nothing comparable to Dana.
were awesome supporting chin up chin up
i think chin up chin up ripped off wolf parade and are nothing in special, listen to this harness can't ride anything and then switch to shine a light by wolf parade from apologies to the queen mary, wolf parade could have taken them to court, the only difference is the opening of the track. who didn't notice that shouldn't speak about music.
i'd agree that wolf parade are better than them by a lonh shot
i said i though copy haho were great
and i probably saw them in a bad day, what can i say? i didn't like their live show i thought was boring and with all the band coming out from this country we need bands that can go on stage and make a difference, to me Danana makes that difference and like At the drive in they won't probably be able to capture the energy of their live shows into a studio album but will see how they will develop.
I believe Copy Haho to be one of the finest Scottish bands around just now!
... but where was this thread when the last two sentences of this came out?
GIVE THIS BAND MONEY SO THEY TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
on december 18th.
i'm going, thanks to joeymahone and his spare ticket.
beyond rock and roll.
they're great, give them another chance.
there is a lot of screaming and loudness but that's not all of it, they're so tight and precise and entertaining on stage (and off it too, when they decide to go into the crowd).
first band on bill was awful but when danana went on stage they burnt the kings college creating a nice atmosphere for the futureheads.
we want an album!!!!
I missed the first band now. Dananananaykroyd were great as ever- it's nice to see an enthusiastic in a support slot to really get everyone going. The futureheads were fantastic last night too. First time I'd been to Kings College - very impressed with the venue.
did you look outside the big windows? the views are lovely.
also yes the first band were SO bad.
i have three of them and another song on vinyl...
also do you read the blog? the one about the kcl show is hilarious.
they're filming a video for their new single!
This band is rubbish except that wee hot guitarist with the crap face
genghis khan was never old enough to buy beer. "I AM 21".
This band is rubbish except that wee hot closet of,
you're in the band! mental. haha.
And neither is THE INTERNET.
We're just tight bros.
there's two of you!
tell us about the album, london shows, why you didn't play 'hey giles' at kclsu (!) etc. :D
our ep 'sissy hits' is sissily hitting the shelves (urgh) in february if all goes to plan. it will be on jealous records, the same as our 'some dresses' single.
london shows will be nice and rocking, umm, look at the myspace?
i was dismayed that we didn't play hey giles, because i like that one. but i think we just forgot. maybe we played some newer things. i don't know any more.
how many tracks on the EP?
yeahhhhh london, white heat will be the next time i come and see you guys. play hey giles then :D
there are six tracks! the tracklist is up above somewhere. double posted, no less...
i can't wait to hear 'british knights'. i hope the word 'lancelot' is uttered at least once.
they are ace.
i am intrigued as to what the gang vocals in song one puzzle are.
video/sissy hits tracklist
i wanna sign them!!!
