yay, actually can't wait!!!
Anyone else going?
Yes Yes yes!
it was dead good
hell yeah. i have three 3000 word essays to produce in a matter of 72 hours, though, so i shouldn't be... but it's Will Sheff, so WHO CARES.
in Nottingham on Wednesday and they were amaaazing. I've seen them 3 times and they've never been anything short of awesome.
It was great wasn't it!!
we trekked up from Oxford to see it and stayed the night at my friend's house. The bit where they segued Our Life Is Not A Movie into For Real was just incredible.
It was a great show all round.
Who was supporting? We got lost trying to find the venue and turned up about minutes befor Okkervil took the stage.
couldn't see a blimming thing in the Roadhouse like. I have no idea how many people there even were on stage.
Really impressed though.
really nice people aswell they are...
Our Life is not a movie... was definitely the highlight of my evening
I'm probably going to try and get across to Leeds for their gig at Brudenell on 7th December
And, I agree, lovely men. I spoke to Patrick for a while and - although i think he took more than a passing interest in my breasts - he was very nice.
And they played everything I wanted them to. Aside from 'no keys no plan', but I'll let that slide.
no key no plan, and presidents dead, both misssing :(
I had to leave early to attend the Acid Mothers Temple, but by all accounts Okkervil put on a jolly good show despite the fact it was the Roadhouse and therefore I could see fuck all. Shame their vocalist sounds exactly but exactly like Conor Oberst.
he sounds like a cross between early connor oberst and - god forgive me - brandon flowers. Somehow this doesn't impede on my enjoyment one bit.
i'm seeing them in december and would be mightly interested to see what they're playing at the moment!
http://www.downtheoubliette.com/shows/2007.html there's setlists for Nottingham and Newcastle at the bottom. I submitted the Nottingham one, it's definitely correct as far as the songs go although the order might be slightly wrong in a couple of places.
how amazing was the last Anna Ternheim song? The rest of her set was pretty but unremarkable, but that track blew me away. Did she say she dueted it with the Guillemots? Does anyone know where I can find it?
my girlfriend bought her EP, which had it on, can't recall the name of it, but yeah
