i really really like the frolic
is this bad?
should i pursue?
they're very much an acquired taste, but i now adore them.
i prefer the new apocalypric folk stuff to the old noise stuff. most of the music now is written by a guy called michael cashmore who i think is a total genius.
my favourite albums are:
All The Pretty Little Horses: The Inmost Light (beautiful, features Nick Cave, has The Frolic on it)
Sleep Has His House (written when David Tibet's father died, lots of lovely harmonium work)
Black Ships Ate the Sky (most recent, stunning, features Will Oldham, Shirley Collins, Antony)
i wasnt sure
i shall aquire these and then devour them.
thankyou thankyou thankyou
in the frolic
'and i dream of how it once was'
he can write the most heartbreakingly sad lines sometimes...his music seems to be the greatest expression of sadness and disappointment...and yet sometimes joyful because its a disappointment about how the truly great things fade so quickly...and thus a recognition that they at least exist! i am drunk.
