Bringing the winter in :-)
Man, it's so sweet when the drums come in on 'Moya' and things slowly start building.
that whole Iron Maiden thing with BBF3 weirded me out
fucking great record though
prompted me to listen to it again, so thanks!
What are the track titles though? i only have them listed as Part 1 and 2 as i didn't know what they were called when i ripped the CD
'Run To The Hills'
I've always had it as 'Blaise Bailey Finnegan III"
i always wondered what Moya was as its often mentioned as one of their best (i agree)
am listening to their peel session now - 'hung over as the queen at maida vale': very nice.
they thought that guy came up with it
anyone heard the vinyl version of F#A# infinity? I dunno if it's because im so used to the cd version but it's just not as good, it has one bit that is, dare I say it, 'wacky'
It's not as good. And the end of side 1 is the wacky/shite bit:
"I don't know what to do. What should I play? I don't know what to play."
All the best bits from the vinyl were taken and re-recorded for the CD. The vinyl's much more ambient as well.
BUT it does come with a coin crushed by a train, and the end of Side 2 has an ace locked groove.
and actually dont mind the wacky/shite bit at all.
and the locked groove is very cool. i once left it going for an hour and almost lost my mind.
Or is there a commercially available vinyl version that is the same?
constellation keep everything in print.
the original pressing which was more handmade is really rare (500 copies). but you can still buy it on vinyl. I've even seen it HMV.
of course it probably isnt.
are they numbered or something?
extensive details on the differences listed on the constellation website.
I reckon unless you bought it from on independent record store in canada about eight years ago it probably isn't.
by showing it to too many people
so its actually 'Blaise...'?
sorry! me being silly.
of the 4 'tracks' on Skinny Fists?
i took a guess based on the artwork inside and came up with
1 - Lift Yr Skinny Fists
2 - ...the buildings they are sleeping now
3 - Monheim
4 - Antennas to heaven...
i reckon Monheim is right but apart from that?
i assume the others are too though? what are they listed as on itunes if they're on there?
last track is definitely called 'Number of The Beast' though
Skinny Fists is apparently:
Antennas to Heaven
- each split up into movements called 'terrible canyons of static', 'monheim' etc
i prefer my names.
btw, are you coming to the cats/saul williams gig tonight/tomorrow?
but i'm seeing !!! and Holy Fuck instead (booked ages ago) which should be awesome too!
lift yr. skinny fists, like antennas to heaven...
'welcome to barco am pm...'
cancer towers on holy road hi-way
terrible canyons of static
world police and friendly fire
murray ostril- they don't sleep anymore on the beach
broken windows, locks of love pt. III. 3rd part
moya sings 'baby-o'...
[glockenspiel duet recorded on a campsite in rhinebe
she dreamt she was a bulldozer, she dreamt she was a
[antennas to heaven...]
but if you look at the vinyl it says the following:
b/w Antennas to Heaven
(it says this on the circular bit in the middle of each respective vinyl).
So in conclusion:
The album is in movements, but each side on vinyl/each song on the CD has its own induvidual name.
has any one heard sparrows swarm and sing? a shameless godspeed rip off but also really really good
