Worth the hype? Doesn't seem like the sort of band NME would go for?
they are getting I have been eulogising about them for a while. "Daddy's Gone" is one my favs tunes of the year. Bit of a turn up for the books that those hacks at Smash Hits oops!! sorry I meant the NME featured something worthwhile.
and have been recieving many bulletins since then.
Anyway, shit name, shit band. Just... shit.
...and first impression was positive so I hit the record button. I approve.
in the conservatory type thing at brel the day before connect. Theyre definitely as good as and worthy of hype as The Libertines/Franz Ferdinand etc.
So yeah, good band. Kind of like the Clash mixed with the Ronnettes
- it does sound rough on myspace, but I'm going to listen again to the live recording.
and on my recording its the self same song, but I still like it, and what is more I still remember it. I would definately be happy to see them live.
franz on holiday. No belle and sebastian at the minute.
"We need to use Glasvegas".
How many magazines this year were sold in the Midlands compared to last year would you estimate?
... but no real idea. It is terrible how NME has lost it so badly though. I still have my NME freebie of J&MC's Some Candy Talking. Now all you get is Pete, Jack & Kate.
get behind some actual decent glasgow bands, i.e. frightened rabbit, the twilight sad (i dont think i've even seen them mentioned in the magazine yet..), popup, broken records (who i saw last night.. AMAAZZINGNGGG)
i love it.
