I know nothing of them and have been invited to see them this evening.
rockin' choons that are pube smooth
2 drummers, catchy, energetic, dc hardcore-y fun awesomeness
I am there.
PS - do you and your lady want to play MIMB in January?
have to confirm a bit closer to the time, but yeah thnxxx
shall talk about it tonight!
They're an incredible live band, but unfortunately I didn't like any of their tunes. I expect that if I had done, they'd have been one of the best bands I'd ever seen, but as it was, I just thought they were a little meh-some.
what a lovely ditty!
totalllllly booooooone. so good.
mentalist pop band you could ever wish to see.
Best live band in the UK nomination seconded.
Its criminal they're not more popular than .well..everybody!
If they lived in England not Glasgow, and thus could tour more they would be getting the adulation they deserve :(
But I found myself left wanting following Dananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananankroyds set. Perhaps I should give them another chance?
yes you should
cafe saki on the 16th, apparently.
but nothing on mp3. Someone please tell me where I can get some.
fact. Shame they're playing the worst venue in London tonight.
but the single is pretty good
They have a similar aesthetic. But 2 drummers.
they sort of remind me of when i heard all teh post hardcorey british rock stuff aroun 2000, but funner and better
They've got that hardcore you can dance to thing going on, same as BBs. Plus they're super energetic and super spasmodic.
with the frontman / old drummer on msn and usenet about five years ago.
he had some pretty mad skills even then. i stole a radiohead bootleg from camden market that hadn't been duplicated propertly and was about 20% slower than it should've been and he resampled the whole thing to the correct speed for me. SMOOTH.
its made me listen to them which i haven't done this week...
I think you will find.
But yeah, they're fucking amazing!!!
really named after Dan Ackroyd?
If so, they're gggggggrrrrrrrrrreat.
cant wait for them to hit leeds after all these "best live band in UK" shouts being thrown around.
the 2 singles are ace. when is the new EP out?
like the guitarist will start up a riff to one of their songs ('Hey Giles' for example), then they'll all look at each other, go 'Yayyyy', look genuinely excited to be playing their own music, the drummers will stand on their stools, hands in the air. It's an enthusiasm and excitement for music that you very rarely see. Their sound is way better than British post-hardcore, think Pavement mixed with dancey Drive Like Jehu and Nirvana.
They're fucking amazing.
is mint as it reminded me to listen to them which i havent done for a wee while.
they are magnificent, and aye live top notch.not see them in ages actually that needs sorting!
i am going tonight (as is lots of last.fm peoples) it being 2 minutes walk from the office _and_ on the way home for me.
..but im biased..come down to the macbeth tonight to see for yourselves!
I sorta don't like them as much now. The rerecorded stuff on the Myspace page didn't strike me as good to be honest.
a crowd surfer got dropped on his face, but it was fine.
if he was bearded
i wasnt crowd surfing - some guy just decided to pick me up and couldnt hold my weight, and ended up just suplexing me
I bloomin' hate that venue though, gah.
you loved them
They were fun but I couldn't see anything (I mean, really, I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING) and left before the end.
Would see them again fo' sho.
really enjoyed the 1st band
I was there last week and the vocals were ridiculously loud and it all sounded totally shit. Would have been interesting to see how they fitted two drum-kits / drummers and four other people on the stage though.

I'd only ever been for clubnights before and it's not ever been that busy. 'tis rubbish.
guitarists and singer on floor
