Autumn music.

atom_jack [Edit] [Delete] 34 replies 19:53, 24 October '07

So, we're OFFICIALLY in Autumn and all the trees are dying...and shit. What music seems to fit in with the seasonal change for you?

For me:
Magnolia Electric Co.
Neil Young
First Beirut record
Sonic Youth - Murray Street
Jack Rose

    • I can't recommend Idaho enough

I have been listening to this album for over a decade. It's so lovely. Why are they not massive?

      • I always think Idaho

are going to be a bit wishy-washy. I'm not entirely sure what I'm basing this on. Tell me I'm wrong?

      • Idaho

I prefer Year After Year, I think This Way Out is a bit weak. I'm not the biggest Idaho fan though so this is probably against consensus. I much prefer RHP if I want "that sort of thing".

    What a fantastic choice.

  • Finland's finest

Autumn is very much associated with trees, for obvious reason. I've forgotten the specific fact, but hasn't Finland got 80% tree coverage? What do you get when you marry the two:

    Islaja - Ulual YYY
    Kemialliset Ystävät - s/t

...and Slaraffenland - Private Cinema is Danish and more of a winter record but makes the ideal overlap record.

I'm not a fan of their other stuff so much, but I put this EP on the other day and it just worked perfectly.
Maybe I'm just letting the title get the better of my imagination though.

      • I haven't this fall

(we call autumn, fall) but methinks the Cure's 17 Seconds and Faith would go nicely against the trees outside losing their leaves.

It's not really fall weather in SoCal. In fact, it's hot and half of everything is still on fire...so maybe I should stop now.
