but id like russ abbot's - atmosphere played at my funeral...
R.E.M. - Nightswimming
Radiohead - Motion Picture Soundtrack
Something that would be great for a suicide might not be so appropriate for an incineration. Unless the suicide had committed the act by pouring petrol over themselves and setting light, obviously.
the tom jones version.
Straight to Hell by the Clash maybe?
Say Hello to the Angels by Interpol - for the title, but I'm not religious - and Obstacle 1 is better?
Something from 'Ladies and Gentleman we are Floating in Space'?
Something from Lost Souls or the Last Broadcast by Doves?
I think J.A.R is Green Day's best ever song. Life and How to Live It.
Maybe those last two are a bit jaunty. Something hip-hop too - maybe Gone off Late Orchestration with the LSO. Or One More Chance by BIG.
Mogwai - Stop Coming To My House
My Latest Novel - The Reputation of Ross Francis
Radiohead - Life In A Glasshouse
SFA - Cabin Fever
Sufjan Stevens - Casimir Pulaski Day
Wilco - Wishful Thinking
Four Tet - My Angel Rocks Back and Forth
The Kinks - Death of a Clown
Tom Waits - Picture In A Frame
Smog - Dress Sexy At My Funeral
I don't think I could die up to it, frankly.
is the ultimate, surely? or 'your pretty face is going to hell', depending on whose funeral it was ....
Burden of Hope by Grails.
I went to my first funeral at the end of the Summer holidays.
A friend from school got hit by a train as result of walking home drunk down the track.
X and Y by Coldplay was played from the start of the funeral and by the time the service was started, Fix You had just finished.
I liked that song when it came out, but now it means a little more to me, I'm not saying I dislike it now, but it brings about memories I'd never have thought of before, perhaps over time this will change. I've never had to deal with death before.
they played free love freeway. laughing through the tears was good.
i want Ice Hockey Hair at mine. i think it would work well. If i wasn't going to be dead i'd be looking forward to it.
"don't feel bad for me i wanted to go"
Then again, I don't really care, I'll be dead.
by Say Anything.
Brutal in a cheery fashion.
'I dream a highway' by Gillian Welch
Funeral by Band Of Horses
I'm having this at my funeral I hope and I'm telling as many people as possible this fact to ensure it happens. thanks.
Iron Man - BLACK SABBATH
Run to the Hills - IRON MAAAAAAAAAIDEN
I want a fist pumping finale, with everyone holding candles and going "oh-oh-oh-oh-ioh-oh"
'asleep' by the smiths (it has beeen said already but i felt it needed reiterating)
by Daniel Johnston- would be either incredibly appropriate or inappropriate, I can't decide which.
This song is pretty good for any occasion, but it would definitely work best at a funeral. Especially the end bit where the choir's singing '...the worst is over...'. That's enough to make anyone cry.
I want my coffin to be carried in to 'Our Prayer' by Brian Wilson. The only problem with that is that it goes straight into 'gee', which is far too happy. No one's having a good time at my funeral.
