Awesome. Anybody have anything to add to that?
tim doing "your animal spirit" in poster-form
for a tenner - genius
I got him to do me as the marmot from the big lebowski
I saw Jasmine and possibly Sarky, but was too pissed
and enjoying myself to say hello. Hello!
FUCK THAT WAS GOOD
Moment of the night for me during 'We'll Make A Lover Out Of You'
fucking awesome gig, not even ruined by a 7ft guy who managed to stand in front of me quite a lot.
sweat descends followed by the year before the year 2000 was the highlight, along with opening with the equestrian.
tim climbing up the balcony was also amazing. fuck it, it all ruled.
very strange support "bands", the first one were surely a joke?
And Cut Yor Hands Off playing one song was a bit weird!
I have a video of the stage invasion, will youtube it in the morning
i spent the first half of the set getting my knees crushed, then ended up sitting on the stage till the end/invasion
'We'll Make A Lover Out Of You' == definite highlight for me too.
I was pretty much sitting on Seth's pedals!
FUCKING AMAZING GIG! MORE MORE MORE - i want!
Tim is a god!
My photos of the event are lame though!
I was getting me portrait drawn then anyway
£3.60 for a fucking guinness!
is wearing a hood up indoors ok or the ultimate
scenester crime? I did this tonight.
Cut Off Your Hands i mean
tim drawing some stuff before the gig. afterwards some girls picked up a "poster" he had drawn from the merch desk. kinda jealous
is a touch passe...
it was only halfway through, when my hair
was stuck in the air via beer/sweat
i was surounded by really tall people at the front tonight.
i also felt a bit sorry for the girl who fell over and then had tim land right on top of her.
Thoroughly enjoyed tonight - was worried that going alone wouldn't have been good for my 'party spirit' but LSF more than made up for it. I'm hoping that the first support was a joke but they did have an annoyingly smug pseudo-pitchfork air to them.
Highlight of the night for me was undercutting a tout and selling my spare ticket for £7. Worth it for the look on his cunt face.
the tickets were £12.50...
Touts were asking for £25, fuck that!
£40!!! so nuts.
I saw you leading the way with the stage invasion Mr Underscore Summers.
joeymahone getting on stage only for tim to sit on him and hump him through about a minute of The Sweat Descends.
mahone now has more indie cred points that summers
I have never had so much fun at a gig. From mass kneeling to the stage invasion (eternal thanks to joe), to rubbing Tim Harringtons cold, clammy, SEXY belly and kissing him on the forehead. I love this band.
was that fat gormless cunt with the bag who was standing at the front of the stage in the centre. CUNT.
staz can confirm
i wasnt selling booze.
i am confused.
It's all about the dressing up. More bands should have a selection of wigs and clothes at their disposal onstage.
it was awesome
Sorry, I just posted another thread. Booo.
THIS WAS ACE.
and no one's brought it up here.
They played the Sweat Descends and We'll Make A Lover Of You, and some stuff off 3/5 so I was uber happy.
Nice to meet some dis type people as well, i'm just getting used to being able to attribute a face to some people.
Kneeling/climbing/marrying the band with the audience/stage invasion/piggy back rides/audience screaming into mics/good dance moves/Rodeo!/costume changes/
Honestly, I think that was one of the best gigs, I've been to. Only complaint was there wasn't enough old stuff but then Yawn was cool as.
apparently sarky has one of my stagedive?
was nice to meet zapsta and soundofbastards and lordlucius and a few others i believe (memory is awful, sorry)
accentuate the positive
Sorry to all that I wasn't more sociable, I was very tired.
I don't know too much LSF, just 3/5 really, but that was FUCKING OFF THE HOOK. What a show. That is all.
Also I got a round for a pound! I gave the guy a twenty and 55 pence, and he gave me £19 change. Always add pork scratchings to your order kids!
who's a fellow photo person.
I don't think people here know what I look like. No reason to I guess.
Whose that? :)
The best band I've ever seen.
For reasons I can't be bothered to explain.
Mike diver doesn't smile much does he?
I liked it when they played steely dan. me and a friend were talking about bands our parents played in the car and they were on the list. Along with Neil young, clapton, queen and fleetwood mac.
He was on an old-school tip last night.
give his surrogate sister beer...
even though I only knew one song, it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. I was right at the back and could see everything, it was so entertaining to see people I knew keep appearing on stage! Tim climbed past us to get to the balcony, very impressive.
right beside me and Claire, just a bit behind!
I didn't think they'd be able to top ATP, then I didn't think they'd be able to top the Old Blue, but they were just incredible.
And they played Rodeo!
but not totally brilliant.
As mentioned in the other thread, the sound was a bit off on occassions, and somehow I didn't enjoy it as much as ATP. The support acts being rubbish didn't help either. A great band and great fun nonetheless.
I chose the banter-in-the-pub with a slightly-cheaper-pint option. Which I think was much preferable.
And I didn't notice any sound issues really. But then I never do.
It wasn't as good as at ATP, no. But then that was one of the most incredible things I've ever, ever seen. But this was pretty close.
i really enjoyed it.
especially spotting joe stagediving.
i do have a photo of jamie on stage, clapping with his hands on the air. it was hilarious.
then seeing you ALL on stage at the end. which was brillliant.
The drowned in sound stage invasion!
joey, jamie and myself.
Fling those limbs!
during that. I think I trod on a guitarists tuning pedal by mistake. :-s
lets not call it the Drowned in Sound stage invasion. It wasn't just us up there.
i did spot a guy i know from uni there too :)
I can handle it. I'm like the behind the scenes guy.
one of the first people on stage! I would never forget you big guy.
Without me your fat arse would have been floundering around trying to work out how to get off the floor.
as joe and richard tried and eventually succeeded in pulling me onstage despite me telling them to stop as they were pulling me OVER a blonde girls head.
sorry blonde girl.
don't worry i was having way too much fun to mind
I have a great arse you utter shitbag
is like a punk rock Charles Darwin.
Crazy. As has been said: awesome. Good to meet Jamie_Summers, sarky, homesick_allen, Jasmine, Bella, darkpigeon, laura_wolf, LordLuciusBanter and thewarn as well. Hmm. I thought I didn't meet that many people. That is actually quite a lot of people. The highlight though was without doubt Tim drinking the beer from the crowd. Fuck. You. All.
do you hate me?
in other news this was the best gig i've been to all year. i think. apart from one other. absolutely fucking brilliant.
but I said hi to sarky first, and she put me off. Introducing myself to people. Ever again.
i would've said hi to you but i had no idea who you were until it was too late :(
Next time. Next time...
the first time
if so, i saw you
also, theo. i saw him.
i need to say hello to people
I saw Jamie Summers though as he started the stage invasion and I think I was standing near Christopher Alcock at the start. Has he got a 'mega' beard now?
I though Ben Warn was going to be there too but I didn't see him.
I wanted a stomach t-shirt but they only
had ones left for fat people
Let's Stay Friends. Then get Inches, which is a compilation of all their 7"s, but generally considered to be their magnum opus. Then get their debut, 3/5, even though other people here will tell you to get Go Forth. They are silly.
have any photos or videos from last night surfaced anywhere yet?
Fantastic show. Tim tweaked my nose. Limbs aching like buggery this morning, but totally worth it!
Was sitting in reception whilst Diver was there i think. I don't feel that special.
the band was in session (interview & a couple of live tracks) on the Steve Lamacq show on Radio 1 last night (it was recorded in the afternoon). You can listen to it on their Listen Again feature. It starts 35mins in.
really enjoyed myself. the stage invasion was good fun. if you scraped a hairy skinny dude with a green shirt off the floor from under tim's feet after the kneeling down bit, thanksx1000, i was in a bit of grief for a second there.
probably a waste of a post, but there you go.
bamos and joe!
"well done, everyone"
plus check out the awesome backing yelps.
WHY CAN'T EVERY GIG BE LIKE THAT?!
enjoyed backing yelping with you marc!
i'll have to see it when I get home. Which is aaages away. Grrr.
but that's some seriously impressive stage mayhem.
