Easily the best headphone listening on In Rainbows.
The 160kbps thing really doesn't bother me. It would still sound amazing if it was in 96 or something.
i wish people would stop pretending they can hear the difference.
N.B: I accept that some people can hear the difference, but so many people bang on about sample rates and the like who don't have a clue what they're on about!
surely better headphones make any problems with quality more noticeable? If by better headphones you mean "more realistic" rather than "nicer sounding". Which i do
I do think the 160kbps thing is noticeable though, and i'm not a supreme audiophile. And it isn't psychological either
when it comes out on CD (which i assume will be 192kbps?) to tell the difference between them!
if you win you get a free copy of the new radiohead album.
and i might be able to tell the difference, even though 192 isn't anywhere near my preferred choice. 320 yes, 256 VBR acceptable, 192 only as a last resort if i absolutely have to hear it. And even then i've refused some things i wanted to hear
You can't/ won't appreciate the music because of its bit-rate?
This album is up there with their best - stop being silly.
but i don't like the attitude that sound quality isn't something music fans should worry about, a peripheral aspect of music that nobody should take into consideration. To me, it's as important as most of the other aspects of the music. I'm talking specifically about production, but with an inadequate bitrate it's more difficult to tell between the good and bad ends of the spectrum
And sometimes, sound quality is the most important thing of all - the only things i've refused to download at 192kbps are dance and hip-hop records (although the latter is more debateable than the former)
i've not really listened to the album much, so couldn't give my informed opinion. And not because of the sound quality (i don't think)
that music fans shouldn't worry about the sound quality, that's why i said i know some people can tell the difference.
but some are clearly jumping on the bandwagon
best on the song on the album. Simple but quite beautiful.
Arpeggi and Videotape are probably my other favourites. I think it's a very good album. Better than HTTF.
I think I prefer the slower songs though - they sound amazing at night.
on the album. Still gorgeous though :)
Stunning album might I add.
it's very relaxing to listen to isn't it
makes it sound like Band of Horses. That's a good thing in my book.
it's House of Cards, Nude and All I Need I keep returning to. They're all special.
I'm quite a fiddler and will normally single out tracks I like from albums, drop them in playlists with other favourites, change the running order, etc. but In Rainbows just begs to be played from start to finish.
favourite tune on the album so far
i don't see the point of it. The worst song on the album in my opinion (still good an all that).
i love the reverb, and the strings, and the opening couplet.
better than this pathetic Radiohead excretion
