Aidan John Moffat - "I Can Hear Your Heart" January 2008
The much talked about, controversial solo album from (post-Arab Strap) Aidan Moffat will be out at the start of next year and, while we like to think that we don't trade in hyperbole, we can categorically state that this is the most provocative album Chemikal Underground (and quite possibly anyone else) has ever released. Aidan has never been a stranger to controversial subject matter but on this project the envelope has not been so much pushed as incinerated - the blurb on the promo CD reads as follows...
A semi-autobiographical tale based on events from the author's youth, I CAN HEAR YOUR HEART is a message for the unfaithful from the foul mouth of a shallow young man: a substance-fuelled tale of deception and confusion via clandestine trysts, sex shows, broken hearts and feathered friends. In his stunning, erotic and romantically challenging debut, Moffat paints a sinister self-portrait of the modern male. Are these the earnest trials of a twenty-something man-boy as he struggles to find true love or the ugly rants of blossoming misogyny? Do we ever really learn from our mistakes or are we condemned to blunder through our lives? Is it sometimes easier to be intimate with strangers? And who keeps phoning in the middle of the night? The answers may lie within...
Please note this material is intended for ADULTS ONLY.
THE FINAL ALBUM WILL INCLUDE CD-ROM CONTENT INCLUDING A BONUS 5-TRACK E.P. WITH ARTWORK AND A BONUS SHORT STORY.
