The official 'let's pretend we've all heard the new Radiohead album' thread
I've heard it.
Sounds like Animal Collective, 'cos everything does.

I've heard it.
It's shit, because it's Radiohead.
:O
Did you just say what I think you said?
DID HE JUST SAY WHAT I THINK HE SAID!?
Yes.
Is it a problem ?
I've heard it
the track with the Ja Rule guest verse was probably the best
it's an album
of thinly veiled Counting Crows covers. Not bad.
I especially
enjoyed the opening first two minutes of the album, where there was complete silence, as they made as wait even longer.
Funny guys.
Who would have guessed
that they finally would go back to 'The Bends' sound?
It sounds to me like
Bodysong, but with 808 snares.
What is surprising
is all the shredding Johnny does on Reckoner.
I was truly impressed by the hidden track at the end.....
I've heard covers of 'The Key The Secret' before Radiohead's version really is excellent.
They're no Urban Cookie Collective though.
They're trying to hard to be Coldplay
obv.
so if you are all pretending
then i assume there isn't a urban cookie collective cover, no ja rule guest appearence, no counting crows soundalikes and no 2 minutes of silence at the start...fucking waste of fucking £40...i want my money back...
oh and i don't have to pretend that i have heard it because this morning i walked through a door into the future and decided i might as well listen to radiohed. so i did.
plangent
tiny bells.
It was interesting to see them reinvent themselves like with Kid A
People wont be happy with the overall "12 bar blues" feel of the album, but they'll come round to it eventually. They always do.
thom really rips it up
on that cover of Mr Wendell
I like the
free jazz breakdown on the first track. Not enough saxophones for my liking though.
Oh and the free jazz breakdowns on tracks two, three, five, six, seven, eight etc. are really abstract and ethereal and intergalactically good.
Not too sure about the free jazz breakdown on track four though, too much saxophone from Johnny.
I loved the...
start of the opening track.
"It's Radiohead bitch"
Yeah.
I loved the start of disc 2.
"You are now about to witness the strength of college knowledge
STRAIGHT OUTTA OXFORD"
I never thought anyone could cover Tubular Bells so well
Glad to see that they've
got the guy that sang 'Fitter, happier' back on this new album.
I thought it was a bit much letting him sing all the laed vocals though.
i'd never have guessed
Morrissey would be ok with only doing backing vocals.
I slightly feel
Selway should have restricted his human beatboxing to just the six tracks
...
Never thought I'd be saying this, but I'd prefer it if they found a time signature and stuck to it. All this ultra-technical spazzing out everywhere is really tiring.
I was slightly disgruntled
to discover that all of the tracks consisted of Thom Yorke informing us that the release was a hoax and the real album was coming out on Parlaphone, with the covers made my Darfurian refugee children and it would be given away free in the Daily Mail.
The promise of a Richard Littlejohn collaboration, however, did excite me somewhat.
i know he co-wrote and produced it
but does will.i.am really have to sing everything?
I loved
the guest track with Shabba Ranks. He and Thom make BEAUTIFUL music together.
i was quite surprised by the
17min Drowning Pool medley but it kinda worked well in the context of the album.
I kind of thought nu-metal was over
but it works, especially the Rollin' cover.
the bit where thom yorke sings about
"hard living mixed with kystal sipping" is blatantly plagiarism.
