Catch, Old Street
This years winners of the People choice at The Indy Awards. The Skallywags, a true Indie/Punk/Ska band on the London new music scene. So many bands use these genre descriptions yet have not understood that they are supposed to represent the music you are playing. The Skallywags are an exception; they have a true Ska beat that gets the crowd skanking with the power and aggression of all that is Punk and Indie rhythms that fit it all together into one great band.
The English Martyras
The English Martyrs are one musical arm of the SMASH 'N' GRAB BI-PARTISAN SECT - a savagely maniacal collection of bands emerging out of London basements. They play conscious musick for a generation lost in a world without taste. Heavy on the ska-rude sound and not-stop noshing to the border, it's the magical resolution of class contradiction - "This sound will blow your mind!"
The far Cries
In the last year The Far Cries toured in the UK ( supporting Hot Chip, British Sea Power, Semifinalists, Field Music, Blood Red Shoes, Popular Workshop and more). 'played in Berlin, Paris, Milan, and headlined the OCA festival in Tenerife in October. Currently writing, recording + taking good gig offers.
"With songs of this calibre, they won't be quiet for long" -
