Anyone collect them? Promo posters, gig posters or both? And where do you get them from?
I collect posters a bit, I have a few Jermaine Rogers (http://www.jermainerogers.com), QOTSA ones, Dandy Warhols, Weezer etc. They look great framed but it's expensive to get them done. Plus my wife doesn't really like them so I only have one room I can put them up.
We've started doing some really nice posters for certain AC30 nights, but they're expensive so only for the bigger shows.
guy who posts on here who does really really nice gig posters, I've got a few of his (Akron/Family, Wives and Black Dice).
I can't remember his username though.
Some great stuff on here:
You can't buy most of them though :'(
the later ones in particular, are really, really nice. Good to know that you're making some as well. If there's one thing the Americans do better than us, it's gig posters. So well done them.
from walls in the Academy all the time.
But I think they're rubbish now, and I only want black and white things on my wall. Framed prints of nice people.
what about that gallery in Manchester that sells them?
These guys are the bollocks
is it stupid to get ones for gigs you didn't go to? there's some really nice ones, but it feels wrong to get them since I wasn't actually there...
And that maybe I just want to get promo posters from albums and tours instead. They're actually the hardest thing to shop for in the world. If I had lots of money, it would be great, but I don't :'(
who gives a shit if you where at it.like i ever saw calexico, iron and wine and giat sand in chicago on new years eve 2004.still the best poster i have.same with chris summerlin(blindjoedeath).he does the best gig posters in the country and ive never been to one of the gigs he's done posters for(but i love the bands and i own atleast 6 of them)there works of art and should be seen as such
