her session for Huw Stephens was wonderful the other week.
i heard 'gloria..' in topshop yesterday. i was shocked.
on Marc Riley's show last night. First time I'd heard her.
A couple of ace songs, some standard female singer-songwriter stuff, plenty of stuff that falls between the two. When I first heard her ("Edward is Deadward") I thought she was brilliant but, of the stuff I've heard since then I think only the "Secret Circus" lives up to it.
She's definitely on the more interesting end of the acoustic-singersongwriting thing but I think 'great' is pushing it somewhat at this stage.
I think she's got potential though. In a couple of years time who knows?
Have you HEARD 'Absentee'?
It's probably my 3rd favourite of her songs and, in fairmess, probably isn't far off the two I mentioned.
I prefer Edward thoguh.
I think her earlier stuff is much more memorable, and it's a shame a lot of it didn't get a proper release.
but I am a shallow pathetic man, and she is a hot girl with a guitar. So my view may be a little distorted.
emmy gave me germs. but yes, she is GREAT.
most of her songs are pretty darn good, and a sizable handful are really actally very good indeed.
Sort of slightly entertaining and pleasant. Nothing more. Pretty nothingful after about half an hour.
